Reconaissance is a white enchantment that reads "0: Remove target attacking creature you control from combat and untap it."

If you were to swing with a Cathartic Adept, Prodigal Pyromancer, or any such creature with a tap ability, then activate Reconaissance 100 times targeting it without passing priority, which of the following happens? (I'm pretty sure it's A, but we feel the need to make sure.)

A. The last Recon activation resolves, removing Cathartic Adept from combat, untapping it, and all subsequent activations are countered upon resolution due to the Cathartic Adept now being an illegal target (It's not attacking anymore)?

or

B. The last Recon activation resolves, removing Cathartic Adept from combat, untapping it, allowing me to use it to mill a card before the next one resolves, still untapping the Adept, and allowing broken shit to ensue?

A)
Reconnaissence asks for atarget "attacking creature". When the first activated ability resolves, all other activations have now an illegal target, the creature is no longer attacking.
