there's a group that meets at Hero Quest in Howell
just a little ways down grand river off I96

in the plaza next to the great escape.
you can easily miss hero quest its facing west which the direction you come from the freeway so less your going east you might miss it. the great escape is like a big neon glowing sign you can't miss it.

Your best luck is to ask either Pandemonium games or Your Move Games in Boston (both owned by the same people) to start hosting legacy tourneys. Otherwise, you either drive or take the train 1 hr west to Worchester, or 1 hr south to Pawtucket, RI, for weekly legacy.

Anyone know of anywhere to play in the Northern VA/MD area? Lucky Frog/Outpost used to do it, but it seems to not be so much anymore. I know SCG has weekly ones (Or at least I think) but Roanoke is about a 3 hour drive, so that on even a semi-regular basis is less than fun.

Anyone know of somewhere?

There are a group of us that are wanting to start weekly 1.5 tournaments at

1249 Morse Rd
Columbus, OH 43229

The Tournament organizer said he can run 8 man single elimination win a box flights as side events for the standard and draft FNM events. The format would be 1.5 sanctioned at 14.00 USD entry fee.

Prize support would be 1st place wins a box of Zendikar and I believe he is going to give out promo FNM cards as well.

The organizer's name is D.J. Kinzelman and he can be reached by calling Comic Town at (614) 262-5006 if you have any questions.

This is mostly a fun night, a bit more casual. Half the players play serious or semi-serious Legacy decks, the other half tends to be janky combos, extendedish decks, etc. We just like to have fun.

Also of note, we do have Friday FNMs with generally 15-20 players. We also have a small, casual gathering on Saturday nights. People usually show up around 6pm. We mostly end up playing EDH multiplayer games, and again, the goal is to have us some fun.

Hey, are there any weekly or semi-frequent smaller legacy tournaments (or even just some regular casual legacy play in addition) around the Framingham/Natick/Wellsley area (or close)? I really want to get into playing Legacy, but could only come on Fridays or Saturdays (or early Sunday Afternoon) with the school year coming around. I also can't go too far into the city (I know Pandemonium has tournaments sometimes, but I can't get a ride to there), so any information would be appreciated (PM or email).

I live in Los Angeles and I'm looking for a weekly Legacy event in my area.
Where are they?

Thanks

When I lived in SoCal (2 months ago), Knightware in Studio City had a good legacy scene. They had small weekly events of 8-16 people, and once a month they had a large event with great prizes that drew 40-50 people. The owner is really nice, and definitely cares about creating a community of Legacy players.

If you don't mind traveling to Costa Mesa, a shop called Majestix basically does the same thing (weekly Sat. small tournaments, and one "big" one a month).

I hope that helps.

Location: Table Top Arena
City: Manchester, NH
Where: Inside the store "Level Up" on Elm st.
When: Tuesdays at 6pm.
Entry: $10
Prize Support: 100% back in store credit to top finishers (based on record). The cost for entry is higher than most, but the prizing is good enough to make it worth it. If you go 2-1 or 3-1 (and probably 2-1-1 as well if there's enough people) you will always make the money back.
Other: Unsanctioned events, so allows up to 15 proxies as a way to get people to start legacy and also make it easier to try new decks. Most players like it, and very few actually use the full 15 proxies ever.
Attendance: 12-16 usually, more or less depends on the week as a good number come from the local university, so they may not show up during exam or home weeks, but even then we still get 8 people at least and have had at least 20.

A lot of the same faces so it's a pretty good community, but new people have come in from time to time, and many have started coming weekly since. Everyone is still competitive and running established/proven archetypes.

Hey guys, I've been looking high and low for legacy tournaments in Boston, but have not found any, so I thought to myself, why not organize one myself!? I've seen my friends game casually at Pandemonium Books & Games, so I figured that we could use that spot as a space for our tournaments. It's located on 4 Pleasant Street Cambridge, you can reach it through the red line. We could do prizes if you guys wanted to, but that would require an entry fee!
If you'd like to be on the mailing list/join, please PM me telling me:
What days of the week would be ideal for you.
&
If you'd like an entry fee so that we could have prizes.
Once I get a decent mailing list, I'll mail you guys the first date of our tournament!
Cheers,
Jason

Hopefully this is the right place to post this, it seemed like the best area.

Tabletop Arena closed its doors in Manchester, NH last week and will be moving to Lowell, MA. I am from Manchester and while the drive is not too bad, i may only be able to go a few times a month for legacy unless i could carpool with people who went to the store and want to go down.

This was sudden and i don't have numbers to talk to most of the guys who were at our weekly events, though i know some of you post here also.

I'm wondering if there's any other stores with legacy events in the NH area or closer than a 45 minute drive? The loss of this store in the area is tough since most of the other stores around here have had problems with poor turnouts, inconsistent prizing, inept organizers who screw up with software/reporting and affect people's ratings negatively (therefore those players stop going), or most of them only do limited because it has the best turnouts compared to standard, legacy, etc. I've looked through the other places in nh like dragon, myriad games, jetpack, collectibles, etc and none of them do legacy. I think double midnight was going to do some, but they can't even get 4 people for standard and their vintage tournament flopped so i don't think they ended up hosting any.

When the store does move, i'm also open to pitching gas to go for legacy every week, if you went to this store PM me. In the meantime and in general though i'm hoping to find a store that's still hosting legacy in the NH area.

I'm only just getting back into the scene after a year-plus hiatus, but based on past experience and postings around the web, there are several options in SoCal. Hopefully some SoCal grinders will weigh in here, but here's a first pass at the options, admittedly from someone who seldom has time to attend:

- Knight-Ware: You've probably heard of this shop, which is in Studio City. If you haven't, don't be fooled by the simplistic website (www.knight-ware.com). Lori runs great tournaments. About half are major $25 buy-in events, the other half are $10 store-credit affairs with smaller turnout. Their next tournament is this Sunday (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?24429-Los-Angeles-CA-Sunday-September-9-2012-Knight-Ware-Inc.-10-entry).

- Majestix: (www.majestixccg.com) This very clean shop in Costa Mesa holds a legacy tournament every Saturday at 6 p.m. I've been only once--and it was to a mid-day tourny--but it was a well-run event. But awfully far south.

- MTG Deals (whose website is slick, but doesn't seem to actually work): I haven't been to any of their events, but I've seen a lot of postings for their tournaments, which appear to be monthly. Like most of those mentioned, they post right here (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?24565-MTG-Deals-CASH-Legacy-Tournament) on the Source.

**P.S. Anyone interested in carpooling to Majestix this Saturday? I live in Ventura. I can drive or ride, just figure we'll split gas either way. I'm open to meeting up early to playtest.

They are trying to run legacy on Saturday afternoons on the first and third Satruday of the month starting in January. If it's sucessful, they very well might expand.

This area of NJ has no legacy, unless you drive an hour or more north west or south. Let's get something going, especially before SCG Edison in February.

Anybody know of a good place in Charlotte, NC to play? I go there periodically for work, I'd be happy to play any format really. It beats sitting around in the hotel by myself doing nothing each evening.

Just moved to the Washington DC area. Looking for a weekly tournament that is with driving distance. Help a
nyone?

Howdy! I know it's a little late but a couple places to check out in your area:

Curio Cavern: (Highly recommend this one)
6701 Loisdale Rd #15 Springfield, VA 22150
(703) 347-6474

Every Wednesday starting at 7:00pm EST 5$ event. store credit payouts based on standing, usually 20-32 people. Lots of high-level players here, so be ready.

Every other Saturday of the month is a "dual for legacy staples" $15 entry fee with cut to T8 after a determined number of Swiss rounds. Prizes are pick drafted from first to eighth, and prize pool is on their facebook page.

Another option:

Victory Comics:
586 S Washington St Falls Church, VA 22046
(703) 241-9393

Every Thursday starting at 6:30 pm EAST. 8$ event, store credit payouts based on standing, usually 4-10 people. this one's significantly smaller, a lot more new players, and their card prices vary a lot. I don't really like this shop a whole lot, mostly because of the manager being a dick and he scares away all the players with his horrible attitudes. I haven't played here in a few weeks/months.

Hope to see you at some of these events! I'll be using a TF2 playmat! Cheers.

Madiso WI has a new Legacy outlet!!

Mox Mania
6039 Odana Rd
Madison WI

Legacy twice a week. Thursday 6pm to 10 pm and Saturday 12:30 to 4:30. Attendace has been solidly 16 to 20+ and is a pretty fun 4 rounder.

Prize pay out is 2 packs for 2-2, 3 for 3-1 and 5(?) I think for 4-0. Also we're planning to have occasional large events.

Newark, DE Legacy players!

Are there any legacy players interested in playing casually around Newark, DE? Ideally we would get enough interest to have weekly legacy tournaments.

Here is a place that we can meet:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Days-of-Knights-Newark-DE/85796758703

They usually close by 9:00pm for MTG players. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday work best so that we don't overlap with other store events. Monday could possible work.

Please send me a message if interested!

I'll be moving to Nashua NH soon and I was wondering if any of you guys are from around there. I did a quick google search and found an LGS that has $5 12 proxy legacy on Wed and $5 FNM Standard.

Not entirely sure how competitive the place is going to be or how much turnout it will have though.

This seems like the most popular question in this thread, but its been a while, so I'll ask again

Any Boston MA legacy events? Pandemonium closed theirs =/

Anyone got any leads, would be much appreciated. Just moved to the area (semi)permanently, wanna get my game back on.

How is the Legacy scene in St. Paul/Minneapolis? The Monster Den is the only store I'm aware of so far, but I'm curious to see what else is out there. My regular shop doesn't do Legacy, unfortunately for me and my budding aspirations.

And to be both the beggar and the chooser, I'm only interested in weekends. I can't be slinging cards on til 1am on a Tuesday, my job doesn't allow for fun like that.

Thanks.

Wednesdays at Mead Hall usually ends by around 11:00. $15 buy in, $100 cash for 1st, cash down to 2-1-1. I believe they're also considering the occasional weekend tournament. Best new LGS in the Cities.

Dreamers does Legacy on Saturdays at 1:00, I think, but it's usually fairly small.

Universe Games has Legacy on Sundays sometimes, but it's a crapshoot whether it actually fires.

Monster Den has a pretty strong Legacy scene, with Thursday nights and the monthly Big 1.5s on Saturday.

Legion Games has Legacy on Tuesdays, usually with a decent turnout.

It's a very cool place, kinda friendly but extremely competitive. Also they allows to proxy up to 10 cards, so it's never too expensive to assemble a deck (that's probably why there is such an healthy metagame).

Also in Milan there is the Casa dei Giochi, in Via Sant'uguzzone. It's most likely the best lgs in the region, there are tournaments every tuesday and saturday with usually 30 to 50 players, both in Legacy and Vintage.
There are a lot of pro in that lgs, people who actually know what they're doing, with a fuckload of top8.
The meta is healthy too there, even if they are really into Miracle.

Monday Geekery fires every week.
Nebulous has seen 2 or 3 weeks in a row with 8+, so I'm hoping that this continues to fire every week.

I have been going to both locations for about a year now, and I still wish Nebulous had more people. They have tons of space, but stuggle to meet 8 consistently.

Geekery also does type 1 once a month, and everyone I've met between there and legacy is pretty decent. No douchebaggery, and the level of play is pretty high overall. Some days you get 14 people, others you get 30+. What I've heard about montasy is mixed, and I don't know anything about nebulous; I assume people go to those places because it's closer to them or they don't want to travel to Astoria?
