Hey,

If anyone could help me i d be infinitely grateful.
I use Ubuntu 10.04, Wine 1.2-rc3 and MSW 0.94f.
Just before i upgraded to 10.04 (8.10), msw was working "ok" and now it s a nightmare i can't play at all as i barely can see the cards, i can't even toss ... it only have random big black square on my screen...
well if anyone managed to make it work please let me know how !
(i ve search on different sites and saw no relevant answers)

thanks

Last Ubuntu updates wine to 1.1.42 from 1.0.1, so purge your wine packages and install old wine packages from http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/wine

Anyone know if unmerging wine on Gentoo then re-merging an older version will screw up an existing MWS installation?

I don't think so, no.
To be safe you can just copy your MWS folder, uninstall wine, delete your .wine directory, reinstall wine, then drag and drop the MWS folder.

Is 1.0.1 the latest known working version with MWS? 1.0.1 throws compile errors related to Freetype.

I actually don't know. I wish I did; it'd almost be worth reverting for me because I used MWS so much. :/
I haven't had mwsplay working on my install for quite a while now; it just glitches out and crashes. I can't really remember when it stopped working though...
I'm using Sabayon, which is based off of Gentoo.

Seriously just considering using virtualbox to install my old copy of XP. I think the compile errors from older versions are stemming from the fact that I'm running amd64, but getting all the libraries straightened out seems like as much of a pain as setting up a VM.
