I'm considering starting up weekly Legacy tournaments, possibly accompanied by larger monthly events.
Anybody in the area who is interested?
I will be visiting. I hope there is something going on the first week of August while I am there. So, while this is the softest thumbs up you could get, it is a start.

Where is this going to be held? Western Mass is pretty big place.

I'm back in Amherst in September, so starting then I would wholeheartedly support weekly things. Until then, I would still try to make the trip for larger events.

The Hadley/Amherst/Northampton area. Not sure exactly which store(s) yet, hopefully that will get figured out this weekend. There are three potential places:
X9 Games
Off the Wall Games
Worlds Apart Games

Hmm... Never been to Worlds Apart, and only got quick glances at X9 and Off the wall. If I can somehow find a way up there I would be interested in attending these though. As I made mention in the other thread, I am mainly a Lost Harbor person since Dragon's Lair closed.

I would attend a West Mass tournament for sure with a bunch of teammates.

Excellent!
So X9 Games has given me permission to start running weekly tournaments. Weekdays are open. I can't do Thursdays.
Tentatively, it would be $5 entry; prize structure is undecided right now, but I'm sure it will be something reasonable.
Let's throw together a quick vote of which days will/won't work.

OK, which day would be better for people? I'm looking at Monday or Wednesday, 6:30 PM.
If we started next week, who would be able to make it?

Since I live an hour and a half to two hours from West Mass I would have to say a weekly legacy event is way out of reach for me. I would definitely be fine with a monthly or bimonthly bigger event. Good luck.

Thanks! I'm going to try to get a larger event together at some point later this summer.
Ok, so for now I'm going to go ahead and designate Wednesday as the day. 6:30, $5, as long as we get enough people. Even if we don't, I'll be up for some playtesting.
Does that sound good for anybody?

Thread necro, but it's almost back to school time and I was wondering if there was anything going on with this. I kinda need something to fill the Amherst/Hadley Legacy void after the failure of bi-weekly Worlds Apart tournaments last semester.

Might as well try this again. Is there any interest for a weekly legacy event of any kind in the Amherst/Hadley area? People here don't seem to own many Legacy staples, so I'm considering the possibility of organizing unsanctioned weekly events with some number of proxies in order to allow more players to compete. I plan on talking to the three stores in the area to see if any would be willing to host something like this, probably along the lines of $5 entry with store credit prizes.
