I have wanted to make a competitive deck that uses redirect spells effectively for a while (you can divert a turn 1 thoughtseize, hehe) so last night I put this deck together and play tested it, and it worked alot smoother then I expected.

From experience most legacy decks run removal/control, so my deck attacks, bounces their blockers, baits them into using their removal, then makes them regret it.

So Here is the list:

Land(18):
Volcanic Island 4
Scalding Tarns 4
Islands 5
Mountains 5

Kill condition/burn:
Kiln Fiend 4
Wee Dragonauts 4
Lightning Bolt 4
Incinerate 4
Fire and Ice 3

Control/Utility:
Chain of Vapor 3
Divert 3
Misdirection 2
Force of Will 4
Spell Pierce 2
Brainstorm 4
Trade Secrets 3
Snap 3

I wish I had one more kill condition that was 2 mana and as potent as kiln fiend

Cards I am also considering about:
Force Spike
Slithermuse
Echoing Truth
Kira, Great Glass-Spinner
Grim Lavamancer/Gelectrode

So let me know what you think! Any suggestions/comments are appreciated!

Well, I mentioned on the Heavy Machine Gun Thread (also uses Kiln Fiend and Wee Dragonauts) that Plated Geopede might work, maybe with a slight land reconfiguration and possibly a few extra spells.

I would suggest you pull the:
2 Swerve
2 Stifle
2 Incinerate/Shock

for:
1 Ponder
1 Divert
3 Fire/Ice
1 Snap

Snap has great synergy with the the kill conditions on the turn you want to "go off".

Yes misdirection! I cleaned it up yesterday and wow, this is a really fun deck. I'll update the decklist.

What it really needed is some quantity draw to keep hand size up... any ideas?

You have the new Draw 7 in the M11 spoiler, but your opponent draws too.

Perhaps Slithermuse, could do the trick.

Chain of Vapor is kind of a bad choice if you're attacking with big creatures.

As for a draw engine: Accumulated Knowledge is slow, but might draw you a lot of cards, Dark Confidant is a choice, but requires a black splash or maybe Browbeat is a possibility. Another thing might be Words of Wisdom

@Gocho- I think your talking about "Time Reversal" in M11, which is good, but I think Trade Secrets is going to work better, they draw 2 and I fill my hand, and you don't really want a deck like this to keep drawing either... and slithermuse may be a possibility, i like it but i dont know how well it'll play, ill be doing alot of play testing this weekend, so I will let you know.

@Tempus- I like that they can send chain of vapor back, that way i can divert it or Misdirection it and then it'll make my guys even bigger (and i have force of will too), but you may be right. nect choice is prob echoing truth.

Oh and a realization I came too, I can steal draw that targets (such as brow beat). A strong point/Weakness of this deck is that it is fueld by the other persons meta. At the very least it'll be fun to play in format with all the removal/discard you see.
