If I have empyrial archangel and energy field in play at the same time, what happens when i take damage?

They're both replacement effects. You choose the order in which they apply each time. Basically, you can choose to prevent it with energy field (if applicable), or you can give the damage to the angel.

The former is a replacement effect and the latter is a prevention effect, but Malchar is otherwise correct - multiple replacement effects and prevention effects interact in the same way.
