The goal of the deck is to consistently abuse the powerful show and tell->emrakul combo by providing redundency via including the overlapping natural order-> progenitus combo.
Lands: 18
4 tropical island
4 misty rainforest
4 verdant catacombs
2 underground sea
1 wooded foothills
1 island
1 forest
1 dryad arbor
Green creatures: 9
4 birds of paradise
1 noble hierarch
3 wall of roots
(questionable slot)
Reps: 6
4 emrakul, the aeons torn
2 progenitus
combo: 8
4 show and tell
4 natural order
setup: 12
4 brainstorm
4 ponder
4 lim dul's vault
disruption: 8
4 force of will
4 thoughtseize
sb:
4 xantid swarm
Gameplan:
show and tell: lets you put progenitus/emrakul into play.
natural order: the backup combo that puts progenitus into play.
birds of paradise/noble hierach: these creatures provide color fixing, ramp, protection from edict effects, and a green creature for natural order.
dryad arbor: a fetchable green creature for natural order. He can also be fetched to block/get sac'd when necessary.
brainstorm/ponder/lim dul's vault: these cards help you set up the combos and add consistency.
thoughtseize/force of will: protection for the combo.
wall of roots: this slot has been tarmogofy/wall of blossoms, each has its advantages/disadvantages. Tarmogoyf can act as a wall against aggro that takes out attackers, while switching to beatdown in matchups such as combo, but other than being a green creature it does not help the combos. I'm up for suggestions on what should be in this spot (including new suggestions).
sidebard
xantid swarm: a green creature that make sure your snt's/no's resolve...seems good.
The anti aggro spot is still up for debate...options I'm considering: propaganda, elephant grass, threads of disloyalty, mind harness, submerge...
the other sideboard slots are meta dependent to an extent.
Question:
1) What to do with the wall slot?
2) Should ancient tomb be represented?
3) Should empyrial archangel/terastodon be considered for natural order targets?
4) What is the best anti-aggro measure?
