Hey guys I know this deck is probably not tournament competitive but just wanted to get some good critique:

Creatures
Total 11
Meddling Mage 4
Sphinx of Jwar Isle 3
Swords to Plowshares 4

Other Spells
Total 31
Chrome Mox 4
Force of Will 4
Daze 4
Counterspell 4
Orim's Chant 4
Isochron Scepter 4
Robe of Mirrors/Diplomatic Immunity 4
Enlightened Tutor 3

Lands
Total 20
Hallowed Fountain 4
Glacial Fortress 4
Academy Ruins 3
Tundra 4
Flooded Strand 4
Island 1

Sideboard
Mind Harness 1
Threads of Disloyalty 1
Sphere of Law 4
Wheel of Sun and Moon 4
Seasinger 1
Dispel 4

The point is to imprint either orim's chant or counterspell and protect it using meddling mage naming say grip or vindicate. Protect the mage using robe of mirror or diplomatic immunity. Please give good critiques.

have you considered a Cunning Wish sideboard? something like so...

1 Orim's Chant
1 Hibernation
1 Enlightened Tutor
1 intuition
1 Stifle
1 Fire // Ice (both sides can be used under scepter)
3 or so meta choices

your build looks like a good start. Is there a budget you are trying to keep or do you have access to higher priced cards like Jace 2.0?

Yeah I considered cunning wish but thought it might be a bit slow since its cmc is 3 whereas enlightened tutor costs only 1. What do you think?

Yeah any legacy card is considered.

This looks like a different approach but a bit more consistant...(using posted sideboard options above)

4 Mishra's Factory
4 Flooded Strand
4 Tundra
1 Hallowed Fountain
1 Flagstones of Trokair
3 Plains
5 Island

2 Crucible of Worlds
4 Isochron Scepter
4 Serra Avenger
4 Ponder
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
3 Cunning Wish
3 Spell Pierce
4 Daze
3 Swords to Plowshares
3 Orim's Chant

With the contol the deck has, you shouldn't need to worry so much about opposing actions as you should have an answer to them in the form of either counters or chant. It would play a bit like landstill decks would.

You need more instants to make Scepter a good play. You can find Scepter with ETutor, but if you can't find Chant on time, you're dead.

I have a mate who plays Scepter Chant and does quite well with it. He plays a red splash for Ajani Vengeant and Lightning Helix, and has had good results with it!

Abeyance would be pretty good.

I'm more with Slaughtercult, this deck doesn't really seem like it needs much more than a couple man-lands and Wrath of Gods to win it. Runed Halo's a pretty good control card

Do you happen to have the deck list? If so, would you like to share it?

you mentioned Jace, would he be good in the deck?

And why did you omit Chrome Mox?

You can imprint either counterspell or chant, that's 8 choices. If you have 3 Etutor, that's 7 ways ot get scepter.

A lot of legacy decks uses Krosan Grip, I think if you don't have an answer to that, it's game over.

And what do you consider an answer to Krosan Grip? Hanna's Custody? Leonin Abunas? you need to have a strong secondary plan. Sphinx is a fine option but you really want to take it more in a landstill route. Consider Micheal Bernat's Landstill (http://www.deckcheck.net/deck.php?id=34525)

Jace is a must for this deck. Good way to keep your opponent from drawing into a Krosan Grip, combined with a powerful ultimate finisher. Teferi is also nice for furthering your lock.

Daze, Mox, and even Spell pierce seem very poor. MM looks even worse to me.

I prefer a different approach. You shouldn't focus so much upon and entirely build around scepter; you should use it when it is advantageous to do so, but make sure you're playing a strong deck otherwise. This really needs to look like a dedicated control deck. Wish is very good in this deck.

// Lands - 24
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Kor Haven
4 Tundra
3 Plains
4 Island
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
2 Windswept Heath

// Tits - 11
4 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
4 Isochron Scepter
1 Moat
1 Humility
1 Oblivion Ring

// Usual suspects - 14
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Force of Will
3 Counterspell
3 Orim's Chant

// People in major cities of Egypt can't read this - 11
4 Brainstorm
4 Cunning Wish
3 Enlightened Tutor

// Sideboard
// Wish Targets - Imprintable
SB: 1 Counterspell
SB: 1 Orim's Chant
SB: 1 Enlightened Tutor
SB: 1 Trickbind
SB: 1 Argivian Find
SB: 1 Disenchant
SB: 1 Path to Exile
SB: 1 Echoing Truth

// Wish Targets - So good you can't leave home without them
SB: 1 Pulse of the Fields
SB: 1 Ravenous Trap

// E-Tutor targets, post board obv.
SB: 1 Oblivion Stone
SB: 1 Vedalken Shackles
SB: 1 Ethersworn Canonist
SB: 1 Crucible of Worlds
SB: 1 Relic of Progenitus

I make no claim that this is built correctly. I think it is better than you've got though.

There is less reliance upon the Scepter, but you can consistently abuse it when you want.

As said above, the red splash can also be fairly interesting.
