Might be going to Orlando for a while in the next year or two. So, are there any Sourcers from that area who can vouch for the Legacy scene in Orlando?

Queue the crickets.

Good luck with that one, pal. Florida is a barren zone for Legacy. To my knowledge (and I have been watching pretty carefully since 2004), there has been exactly one tournament with over 100 participants ever, the SCG Orlando event this year. There is a store that has regular Legacy near Ft. Lauderdale at the moment, but that is quite a drive for you. It is so bad that there was recently a fellow who would drive from Sebastian (3 hours North, and much closer to Orlando) to a Friday night gig nearby until it ran out of players.

I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for the last 3 years and can safely say that there is nowhere to play between there and Orlando.

I ended up playing T2 for the past 3 years because of it.

Thankfully now i have somewhere to play Legacy and Vintage again.

-Cheers-

Your best bet would be http://www.armadagames.com/ out in tampa. They have legacy events every saturday. It would be like a 45 minute drive, maybe an hour depending on traffic and where you were in orlando. The meta is quite varied with everything from reanimator, goblins, merfolk, lands, belcher, thopter combo, dream halls combo, dragon stompy, vampires, new horizons, canadian thresh, geddon stax, dredge, aggro loam, weird homebrew shit and even obscure decks like golden grahams and life.dec or MUC. Also the store is really nice and so are the staff. Theres also a pizza place next door, so that always helps too.

Awesome, thanks! So how's the turnout usually? 20+ people? Is it a weekly thing?

Hi, the turnout is as random as the decks people bring. One week there will barely be 8 players and the next week it'll be 20+. You never know who is going to be there or what they are going to be playing. Its a $5 entry with prize being store credit. I've looked all over this whole state for legacy events and this is definitely the best place that I've come across.
