Yeah, that's right Abu Ja'far. He would go well with Proclamation of Rebirth, Reveillark, etc.
Survival of the Fittest -- Mother of Runes, Weathered Wayfarer (finding Volrath's Stronghold), Quirion Ranger...
Sadly, I am not joking.
Laugh, then think and then hopefully discuss.

1) Did you read the guidelines for SCDs?
2) What if I bolt it? Ya know, instead if attacking into it?

If only there was an instant that cost W that could take care of problem creatures...

Even if Shriekmaw or Flametongue Kavu weren't far better solutions to Survival for, Loyal Sentry does the same while actually knowing how to attack.
Edit: and no, that doesn't mean I would ever even consider this card. Horrid.

The only good thing about Abu Ja'far is that it used to be a Summon Leper. That's just hilarious, and the only reason to play the damn thing. Now if they should only print the following card (and erata'd Abu Ja'far back to leper, since he's just a normal Human now, which is boring):
Jesus Christ :W:
Legendary Creature - Human Messiah
T: target leper becomes a 1/1 creature without any abilities.
If Jesus Christ would leave the battlefield, remove it from the
game with 3 time counters on it. It gains Suspend.
0/1
Back on topic: oh wait, this topic is about Abu Ja'far. It must be a troll. Move along, nothing to see here.

Awesome thread. I'll recommend it to my friends.
EDIT:
I thought about it a bit. I think that DCI should make a new format, a mix between Alpha League and Ancient.
Legal sets: Alpha, Beta, Arabian Nights and all the fetches with the Vintage B/R list. This way we can play all those insane cards like Abu Jafar, Camel, etc. together with good manabases and Bazaar. It would be hillarious:
"Lotus, fetch Taiga: Abu, Abu, Kird Ape, go."
"Ok. Jet, Stone-Throwing Devils, Alexandria, go"

My friend used to have an Abu Ja'Far deck that used Lure to make all the opponent's creatures block it. He called it "Suicide Bomber".

I think this could work. seriously.
If we take all the Middle Eastern named characters and form a deck, we can call it.......drumroll please......
Taliban Nights.
With stellar appearances from Ali Baba, El-hajjaj, King Suleiman, Ali from Cairo, Sinbad and everyones favorite Aladdin.
