View Full Version : Pack to deck: decide what deck I want!

If you didn't know, I trade cards on MTGsalvation.
some people there have done "pack to power," where they buy a pack and trade away the contents all building up to a Power 9 card.
So what I'm going to do is the same basic thing, except it will all be towards a full Legacy deck, sideboard and all.
yes, I know it's near-impossible. But worst comes to worst, I get some sweet stuff.
What I need to know is, what you guys think I should work towards.
I was thinking maybe Enchantress, but Salvation kind of sucks and nobody there has Moats. Same goes for Lands with Tabernacle, despite it possibly being my favorite deck idea ever.
here's a list of things I'm NOT going to do:
-Merfolk
-Ichorid
-Any bad or unproven combo deck (which I guess entails Ichorid anyway)
-Goblins
-UW Tempo

So, what do the users of MTGThesource.com think?
Also, don't say that I should just do "pack to Legacy staples," because I'm pretty sure nobody will go for that.

UW Tempo.

TES. Oddly enough, the three characters "TES" that I originally posted were corrected by the board to "Tes"

Zoo. Nothing in it'll ever get banned.

And in all seriousness, it's just an awesomely powerful deck (plus more people should play it cause I play Storm).

Zoo balances cost and availability rather well, I think.

Don't play any Moat.dec, they are awful and suck. And don't play UW Tempo - read a few comments in UWT thread to know why. I think that ZOO is good choice for obvious reasons, except that it is Ichorids mirrored image - while Ichorid pilots look like they play some another game ("I don't draw cards, please kill my creatures..."), it is in fact the Zoo that is the most stupid deck in existance, as the zoo guys just tap their squeegees and finish the game with some insanely thrilling play like tapping Goyf, or tapping some Cat or Ape, or firing Bolt/PoP/Helix.
So go for Ichorid!

Or maybe just ask Bill Strong what deck to play.

Just play Enchantress, it doesn't need the Moats at all, Moat is very debatable in Enchantress.

Something with
Force of Will and Tarmogoyf
and one of the following:
Wasteland
Counterbalance
Natural Order
Survival of the Fittest

My personal vote is for SotF, but all are good or decent. Might be too expensive though?

edit:
For a somewhat easier to build deck: make Rx Goblins.

Go to Salvation, click "sort by # of posts" and then scroll to around the bottom of page 5. That's where the good decks start to appear.

Salvation is completely retarded.

Burn: Already have
Ichorid: Can borrow
D&T: You must be joking

I'm thinking maybe Red Stompy. I've already got a fair amount of the deck, but I enjoy playing Storm a lot.
I've tried out NLI on Workstation. It's so boringly consistent that there's no fun involved. But that usually amounts to good (See: Zoo, Merfolk)
Maybe I'll just play my Enchantress Survival Crossover deck.
Meh. I'll probably end up doing CT Bant or TES.

foil sinkholes! Yeah!
I've decided I'm doing TES. As much as I would love to do Lands, I'm never going to get all of the pieces I need for it.
