I've always had a slight favoritism to stall decks in any game, and Magic is really the only game right now that doesn't outright suck.

Deck
4 Archive Trap
4 Fog
4 Moment's Peace
4 Tangle
4 Holy Day
4 Angel's Grace
4 Batwing Brume
4 Pollen Lullaby
4 Dawn Charm
4 Howling Mine
6 Plains
5 Forest
4 Windswept Heath
4 Temple Garden
1 Overgrown Tomb
1 Godless Shrine

I'd eventually like to get the deck rolling into competitive, but I haven't played the game in years and it's definitely going to suck at first.

The idea is to deck the opponent out through a healthy smattering of Howling mine and 1/2 Archive Traps. Batwing Brume acts as a secondary wincon if the opponent tries to swarm with something like goblins.

I'm currently thinking about replacing the Archive Traps for Leyline of Sanctity to counter Black Discard decks.
Also thinking of adding Boseiju.

It's kind of all over the place, is there any way to make it better?

Heh, that sure is an awful lot of Fog-effects.

I'd cut the Batwing Brumes and the black lands. You've no other way to attack his life total than these four cards and tbh I doubt your opponent is going to attack you with 18-20 creatures.

Maybe make room for four Isochron Scepter. Constant Mists is also a pretty good Fog-card.

What's your plan if your opponent's not running any search effects? Grinding them out with nothing but Howling Mines seems like it could get a little painful. Also, I think you need to be able to counter burn cards. Several types of red decks run enough burn to take you from 20 to zero.

Anyway - pretty funny concept - although maybe not to play against... :)
Welcome back to MTG and I wish you luck with your deck.

What about decks that win through other ways than the combat step?

Orim's Chant seems to be better than most of your regular fog effects, as it can potentially stop combo decks.

Pulse of the Fields could be good enough to keep you alive against most decks packing burn.

Constant Mists is pretty fantastic.

Angel's Grace seems kind of meh in this. What about Solitary Confinement? I suppose to support that you'd have to include more of a draw engine and then you work your way into playing Enchantress anyway. I dunno, it just seems like you're trying to accomplish with a massive, massive block of cards what a few tutors and Elephant Grass/Moat/Solitary Confinement could do, leaving you a lot more room for consistency and versatility. If you're dead-set on keeping the fog spam thing, I'd definitely find room for Orim's Chant and Isochron Scepter.
