i was thinking about running good ole korlash in another monoblack control deck when it dawned upon me that there is another new M11 card which does what korlash does... ie gets two lands. Primeval Titan

here's what i have so far and whatever suggestions/help would be more than welcomed.

Lands [24x]
[8x]Swamp
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Volrath's Stronghold
Bojuka Bog
Forest
[4x]Verdant Catacombs
[4x]Bayou
[4x]Overgrown Tomb

Mana Ramp/Win Cons [16x]
[4x]Korlash, Heir to Blackblade
[4x]Primeval Titan
[4x]Rampant Growth
[3x]Corrupt
Loxodon Warhammer

Board Control Cards [10x]
[2x]Damnation
[3x]Chainer's Edict
[2x]Pernicious Deed
[3x]Maelstrom Pulse

Card Advantage [10x]
[3x]Phyrexian Arena
[4x]Hymn to Tourach
[3x]Wrench Mind

Sakura Tribe-Elder just seems flat-out better than Rampant Growth.

IMMUNE TO SPELL PIERCE SUCK ON THAT SAITO.

Assuming you replace the Rampant Growths with STEs you'll have 12 creatures. 4 of which are 1/1s. The other 8 drop quite late in the game and get smacked around by every piece of removal ever. Korlash seems neat, but am I correct in thinking you can only do the Grandeur thing if you have a Korlash in play and one in hand to discard? Even if that's not the case, it still seems meh.

Your gameplan is like:

turn 1: Don't hit me!
turn 2: I may have something relevant but probably not.
turn 3: Beware the clunky removal that may or may not take effect this turn!
turn 4: Creature?
turn 5: Creature?
turn 6: Creature?
turn 7+: God I hope I drew more threats with my zero card draw than my opponent drew answers, and that this Corrupt for 10 will win me the game.

Titan just seems too expensive and slow for a format in which we have access to Exploration and Knight of the Reliquary. But even if your end-game is better than I made it out to be, your first few turns are just frightening. You're gonna get beat all to hell with Tendrils and Goblin tokens and Tarmogoyfs and Jittes and KotRs and targeted discard and Emrakuls that got cheated into play.

i don't understand your last statement. you got lots of board controlling pieces like damnation, chainer's edict, pulse, and deed. isn't that enough to stop most creature rush decks?

thanks everyone for the STE suggestion.

I would change the wrench mind to something like duress or thoughtseize. You have enough cards against aggro (Hymm, mass removal) that I would use the wrench minds lot for single discard because
1) You has turn 1 play! Most excellent.
2) It helps take bombs and/or combo pieces before those things come down.

I would also consider changing the tombs to just swamps or something. Maybe wastelands/Maze of ith? Also run 1 loam, you want to have urborg/volrath out as much as possible.

you are right. wastelands would probably be better than wrench mind. it would up the land count to 28 which is good and it is a near uncounterable LD effect in case they have maze and the like. life from the loam might be also a great fit as well since you can put anything you want in the deck back on top.

the weird part about LoL is that i would be tempted to play 1 genesis and 1 eternal witness as well.
