Testing New MWS server

Hey there, I just put up a temporary Magic Workstation Server for testing. This is for TheSource members only, please be sure to have the [S] tag followed by your forum username.

I want to see if my hardware can take the traffic. I eventually want to put up a permanent server for the community to use.

Feedback is welcome.

I jumped on there last night -- I didn't have [s] in front of my name, but the game I started had [Source] in it. No takers for about 20 minutes.

I'd assume that it will pick up after a week or so. It will take a little bit for word of mouth and such to get spread that you can get decent games there.

The server is down atm (switching hardware). It should be up and running permanently by Friday. Sorry about the inconvenience.

I hope this effort will bring the TheSource community closer together and allow us to finally get some proper testing done without the common "Player Lost", "FU you lucker" and endless crashing.

I'm getting "Could not connect". I guess this might be DNS-server issues, as the URL is somewhat new? Not sure how that works.

I'm able to connect just fine. Just reinstalled MWS tonight so I need to build a couple decks before I jump into a game.

he was playing some stupid 1.5 welder.dec and after complaining all the time about mws , after saying that a Reejerey ('folk, me) had summoning sickness while it was not true, he looses 0-2 and quits doing this:

it is very dead. I keep trying, but not finding anyone on there. I'm on as Mogg Fanatic. Generally, I'll leave a game up while I'm playing on mwsplay.

I guess the essential is to spread the word. Only then will people be aware of the server and actually use it. I dunno if any of the mods could bump this up to a sticky for maximum visibility.

That would be a great Idea. I currently do not have an account on MTG Salvation. If an established member of those forums could make a post about the server, it would be very much appreciated.

I've been going to the server, but no one is ever on. Hopefully word spreads soon.

edit: Since this is expanding to not just TheSource, I'll post on Gleemax, too. There's only about 15 or so regular users on the Legacy part, but perhaps they'll let others know as well.

I'm having difficulty actually playing games on the server itself. Perhaps it is just my connection (I don't have problems on the other servers)? My games are timing out.

I tested with my own 2 clients, and I presume with Humphrey just moments ago.
