So I did some research and didn't find any deck that ran both firespout and hymn to tourach, which I think could be a powerful core of a deck right now. I couldn't think of any decent combo's in RBx so midrange it is. I played a couple games on mws going 2-0 vs. Saito Merfolk, 2-1 vs. UW landstill, 1-2 vs. TES. Crusher isn't great but I'm not sure what I'd replace it with.

Edit: 1-0 vs. enchantress

Some ideas...

+4 Dark Ritual
+4 Demigod of Revenge
+4 Small Pox

-4 Edict
-3 Crusher
-3 Chain Lightning

I dunno, I guess I just don't get all spot removal and bolts, since you're running Firespout which does 3 damage to everything either way. It's kind of a gutsy card to run main deck, it could either be awesome or just suck depending if they're running Goyfs and knights or w/e too or not. Obviously tribal it's gonna be great, otherwise it's pretty subpar imo

I played a deck like this recently, with the aim of having a first game advantage over zoo and merfolk. Worked a treat: I played merfolk first up, and dumbass deck mis-registration game loss aside, won the two games. However I had the misfortune to then meet three decks I just could not touch - stax, a staff of domination deck, and a b/w prison deck (tabernacle, mana denial, vindicate, etc). In each match either my disruption suite crapped out on me, I mulled into oblivion, and / or my clock was too slow.

My deck was a little different to the above. I only played B/r, forgoing tarmogoyf for greater mana stability. Also, I wanted to have game against resolved progenitus, and in addition to the edicts, I played a set of gatekeeper of malakir. My last threat was vampire nighthawk, but in all honesty, her abilities were seldom relevant. Buckets of removal should be able to take are of aggro.dec; I tested extensively against my mate's goblins, and I am very comportable with that matchup.

In broad terms the main list was something like:
Duress
Hymn
Ritual
Gatekeeper
Nighthawk
Tombstalker
Edict
Arena
Bolt
Firespout

with a board of plague, relic, etc.

Would I play it again? Absolutely, if I could be assured of meeting lots of zoo and fish:mad:!

@ Brian: I'm not sure if terminate is better than edict right now...it's a meta choice.

@ Mystical: Smallpox and Dark ritual are card disadvantage and my goal is to maximize card advantage starting with hymn and firespout. The deck runs a lot of removal but you still don't want to see t1 nacatl or lackey on the draw and chain lighting is good reach so I included it.

@ Lolly: Playing three stax decks is unfortunate seeing as so few people play it...pernicious deed seems like a good call if your meta is warped towards stax (I suggest the green splash for Tarmo and Grip at least...). The thing with stax of course is though that if that deck is functioning properly and wins the die roll it's just going to beat whatever it faces. I was considering nighthawk too but I'm not convinced it's powerful enough for legacy. Crusher also ensures that you draw gas while pumping himself and helping you play tomstalker, while playing nice with fetches. I'll test some more to determine if the life is relevant enough.

Bitterblossom seems better than Countryside Crusher, especially with Firespout.
