Mark your calendars: every first Saturday of the month is Karlsruhe Legacy time.

Legacy in Karlsruhe... never heard of it, have you? Shame on you! For Karlsruhe was one of the first, one of the largest and for a very long time one of the most influential Legacy-hubs in southern Germany. Sadly, that was back in the day when dinosaurs Goblin Lackeys roamed the earth and Lightning Rift was something people were afraid of... Karlsruhe's position as a major Legacy center has since been reduced to no more than fond memories - you all know the story: shop closes, none is there to pick up the torch, and all of a sudden you find yourself in the position of that grumpy old man reminiscing about ye good ole' times.
Fast forward a couple of years: a new game-shop opens – the “Spiele Pyramide”. And they want to offer Legacy too. Excellent. Now the bad news: in the meantime, Legacy has turned into an every-man’s format; much more established tournaments existing no more than an hour's worth of driving in each direction of Karlsruhe (most notably: Mannheim and, of course, Hassloch). The result: stagnating attendance numbers – despite Karlsruhe probably being the most cut-throat, top-notch Legacy event in Germany with the highest average skill per player: most of the south-west German skill is Karlsruhe-based, after all.

Time to change that – time for some publicity! A tournament wants to be covered. Let's go!

Once again awesome coverage, the match coverages are the shit. I just wonder if decklists are gonna be delivered, especially for the UBg Balance Hexnought and the GWr Survival (I know, for this deck there are already lists up in older reports, but maybe there have been changes).

Cheers

For decklists of the decks covered as Feature-Matches, click on the underlined Deckname (i.e. Link) in the Match-Coverage. You may have to disable a security setting in your PDF viewer for the links to work (your PDF viewer will flash you a notice should this be the case).

Top 5 decklists are also available as links in the final standings.

How does a storm combo deck with access to Pulverize from game 1 lose to Affinity?

How does a storm combo deck with access to Pulverize from game 1 lose to Affinity?

I punted it. I was on 12 life and wanted to go for Emrakul, but he had Disciple of the Vault and 6 artifacts. If I swing with Emrakul, I lose. So I had to go for Tendrils but misplayed because I used Brainstorm to dig for SDT instead of using it to break into Doomsday.
The stack SDT LED LED IGG ToA would have won the game with the BS in my hand at that point, but I noticed that way too late. I played Brainstorm to dig for solutions, but drawed 3 lands and then I didn't have a single cantrip to break into Doomsday.
And to be honest, I absolutely went on tilt when I noticed that Emrakul will cost me the game and I lost my focus.

g2 I slowrolled but he drawed Seat of the Synod and then a Master of Etherium which bashed me within 2 turns after I fail to have BBB for Doomsday.

Not having BBB for Doomsday also costed me 2 other games that event. I think the list wasn't optimal however, I only had 4 Dark Ritual, 4 Lion's Eye Diamond and 1 Petal as accelerators, I should have played 2 CRits as additional accelerators.

I'm shameful.

Kudos for the report and the finish(es) anyways, If I happen to be in Karlsruhe someday (on saturday) I will remember to participate in that event.
