Pre-registation (for both events)
Pre-registration is not required but recommended. We've got space for about 180 players, so there will be plenty of space. On the other hand preregistration guarantees a spot and it makes my job a lot easier. You can pre-register using these methods:
1. Send a mail to: magic.toernooi@gameforce.nl
2. Leave your name+dci number in this topic or any topic about the Dutch Championship
Please mention whether your playing Legacy, Vintage or both.
Additional stuff (for both events)
-Rudy Meyer, from magicunited will be at the venue to buy/sell/trade your cards. The Gameforce also buys and sells single cards.
-At the venue you can get food and drinks for decent prices, so we ask everyone not to consume foods and drinks you brought yourself inside the venue.

At this point 181 people have registered. This is way beyond my expectations when I announced the event. This means that the tournament is full at this moment.
If you want to enroll, just preregister. I'm looking for a way to get some extra space for about 30 extra seats.
Did you register but are you not gonna make it to the event? Please let me know and give other people a chance to play.
I'll be there. Must be fun!
I did hear something about over 200 pre-registered people, are we going to put up a tent next to the store?

actually yes..
A final update before the event.
due to an enormous amounth of pre-registations the event is somewhat full at this moment. We do have a backlist for people who pre-registered but did not make the first 217 spots. If people cancel, the guys on that list will be the first in. Usually some people who pre-registered don;t show up so it is possible to play even if you're on the list. The higer you are, the better you're chances are.
For more information on the list and all other announcements visit this Forum (http://benelegacy.nl/viewforum.php?f=49), benelegacy.nl/viewforum.php?f=49 . All pairings, announcements ect will be posted there so if you have a smartphone you can look op all the info you need to play the event. Everthing will be posted in the venue as well of course.

Only 216 to beat this year to keep my title..
I see no problem here, how about my personal throne?

Prediction: Maykel "My first name is almost my last name when pronounced in English" Michiels will show up, play an Ichorid deck filled with English cards he traded off of chumps in the US for the Japanese cards he picked up on the cheap. He'll then inexplicably go 9-0, even though it's an eight round tournament and he drew two times after round 6.
I was gonna write a funny tournament report but let's just assume that Mayk wins the whole thing because (and nobody else in the Netherlands can claim this nickname because we gave it to him and we're from AMERICA) he's the fucking flying dutchman. The conversation on the ride home will be dominated by Mayk politely observing that cars must be a ridiculous expense, hiding his revulsion from his car-mate's enamored MMA musings, and trying to convince everyone that his country isn't racist.

Yeah, he didn't win the tournament.

Oh no , we better ban Tendrils of Agony or maybe Dark Ritual ;) It's unacceptable that people beat survival-vine.

Yeah, ban Tendrils, Dark Ritual, and LED. Ah! And Ad nauseam too. Just in case... ;)
Anyways, congrats to Practical Joke for making it two years in a row!
(Not to take merit from him, but he had dream pairings in the top8 (Goblins and 43 Lands). But luck on pairings doesn't win 200-man tournaments, so congrats again)
Small report from me. I was playing the Cat Survival list Spirit of the Wretch posted some time ago. I just wanted to play Survival one more time in case it gets banned and I hate mainstream decks :) I twisted his sideboard around though, since I don't have Retainers and I wanted to play some Null Rods in my list.
Round 1 against Trinket Mage.dec
Nice guy, cool deck. I beat him 2-0
1-0
Round 2 against the Rock
Two very nice games, I beat him also 2-0
2-0
Round 3 against Landstill
Nice guy, although he was talking very quietly all the time. G3 Humility got me..... I went 1-2
2-1
Round 4 against the Rock with red(Skeggi)
Trashtalked a bit, he made a comment about my sleeves (in which he was right btw). Kuddos on not calling a judge, although I didn't realize I was doing wrong. I beat him either 2-0 or 2-1
3-1
After this game ended I rushed to the counter to purchase new sleeves and started to resleeve my deck in a hurry (time was called when we signed the slip), fortunately there was enough time to even go out for a smoke after that.
Round 5 against ANT
First game I could have won if I wasn't tapped out, with Bolt and Ill Gotten Gains, he won when on 2 live.
Game 2 I won in the face of 28 goblin tokens with an exalted Birds of Paradise (man I love that ability)
Game 3 I wasted 3 lands, but he could combo off with the 4th the turn before I could went lethal.
3-2
After this my girl called me to ask how things went, and I started to think about having badly baked fries and playing with cards, or having a decent meal and playing with my girl. I chose the girl....
All in all it was a well run tournament. Having to wait in the rain (although it wasn't that much) in a row to sign in sucked, but that was the only problem I had all day. And for the love of god, please buy a decent audio installation! Having to listen a mic sounding like it went through a guitar distortion really goes down my spine.
Other then that is was a very nice event.

Great event!
After I was bothered the last time by some racist comments for being a German at the top tables of the Dutch Champs '06, I decided to give it another chance yesterday.
Everyone was nice and fun to play!
But I still don't get the price support.
You've announced the following:
Prizes
When about 100 people show up this wil be given away:
[...]
5th through 8th:
1x savannah, 1x taiga
I just red in another Thread that you've increased the prices because of the high amount of participations?
Well, I just got 2 shady looking revised duals for the 8th place while the 2nd placed got 15 duals.
In my humble opinion that's a great differential and I'm a bit confused.
A Judge gave them to me and has assured to me that that's all I would get. Was he correct at all?
practical joke
11-15-2010, 04:40 PM
Well the original price would be 20 duals for nr 1 and 10 for nr2..
We splitted the duals before we played and played for the cup, title and the bramvitational invite.
that's why he got 15 duals as well.

Both decks can screw him out of the game if he hadn't run this straight, wasteland-proof list. With his basiclands he made our Wastelands just useless (which can win games against combo-decks with lots of nonbasic-lands).
I don't know much about lands, but Goblins isn't a dream MU at all for them.
Afterall: nice deck. good player. I'm glad that the only loss I had that day was to this deck and not some other crappy, thoughtless combopile.

The legacy event was a huge succes! over 200 players showed up playing an a huge amounth of different decks. From survival to tribal to storm combo to enchantress to whatever. In the end our 2009 legacy champ was able to take the event again. An amazing performance. I want to thank everybody who made the trip to eindhoven and hope to see you again next year!
This sunday the vintage champs wil he held. It wil be a bit smaller, but I still expect a nice prize payout! Currently 36 people preregistered. That means plenty of space, fresh air and of course: fun!
See you this sunday!
