I wish they would call these events SCG Open Boxborough... as it is NOWHERE NEAR Boston.
If I were still living in Boston without a car, I'd be skipping this as I skipped their last one out there.
It is at least an hour away from Boston and not accessible by any public transportation from the city of Boston.
Its like having a tournament in central NJ but calling it SCG OPEN NYC
/end rant

I'll be driving up from RI and most likely staying there...
should be a fun weekend nonetheless.

True but having a tourney in boston itself is probably the easiest way to make sure nobody outside the city comes. Having a reasonable parking option is huge.

If anybody from the boston area needs a ride shoot me a pm.

I hope all of you are able to sort out ride/room shares for this event. Unfortunately, I won't be there, but I will be at the Richmond Open and Invitational weekend in December.

I'll be there for Sunday legacy. Not sure if I want to kill time waiting for legacy on Saturday, but I'm considering it.

The legacy challenge on Saturday at 5PM is a fun way to get some testing in. It's like a legacy FNM with nice prizes.

So, I'm totally not expecting any Survival at all at this tournament. I hear that deck is pretty terribad with no T8s recently.

Sarcasm aside, Survival will not win this tournament.

4 Survival Decks... Not really doing to much to show them why survival shouldnt be banned.

I can't disagree, WOTC dropped the ban hammer on mystical tutor because decks running it finished 1/2 @ GP Madrid.
Having just checked SGC's deck DB, 10 survival variants have made top 4 10 times since June, and that is just at SCG open tournaments. I have not had the time to check deckcheck.org, but I can only speculate that it is doing just as well in Europe. So based on what WOTC used for banning criteria in the past it would seem to be pretty obvious that they are going to take it survival also.

The 1 thing I have noticed is that based on how pervasive survival decks are in the format. and the minimal amount (usually 3 pieces tops) of GY hate there is. Is this a contributing factor to survivals success? If so the question goes to how much hate should people be packing, and if that does not bring it's results back to some sort of norm how is wizards going to respond?
