Where
Knight Ware Inc.
3709 Cahuenga Blvd. West
Studio City, CA. 91604
(818) 769-7830
http://www.knight-ware.com

When
Every Saturday
Store opens at 11 AM
Testing at 2 PM

This is more of a testing thing than a tournament thing. When enough people show up that want to have a mini tournament, we can do that, but the idea behind this is to test decks in a comfortable place with a really nice store owner who has a lot of cards for us to finish our decks with.

We typically organize here (http://apriestofgix.com/legacy/index.php).

Would there be any chance for a weely tournament on weekday nights as well? Like Monday, Weds, or Friday night?

Is it a coincidence that every store in LA (and most stores in general) that do weekly events fail?

What are you going to do to make this not fail?

Well, this is more of just a gathering than a tournament. If enough people show up, and you, we can have a tournament, but its more of a testing session that people are welcome to come to.

I like this plan. I'll try to join the events when timing permits.

RE: saspook
Los Angeles is huge geographical area with numerous stores. Most of these have poor tournament management and poorer community building events. Typically, a store will have 3-6 players that are interested in Legacy - not enough to run even an 8man. Only by pooling all the separate groups together can a larger tournament be run. Most of these groups are also in the dark about where and when the events are happening.

The difference between every store in LA and this one:

this is Knight-Ware.

The store has a proven track record of having awesome tournaments every month and has built up the regional Legacy community as a result. All those other stores are amateurs trying to get their feet off the ground. Everyone that's serious about playing Legacy in Greater Los Angeles has been to a KW tournament before.

So, this topic is out here as an open question to all those LA'ers that have been here before: do you want to do something every week, at a setting that is familiar, at a place we all know?

I would be interested in a weekly tournament and the testing sounds cool aswell

I want to stress, this is not a formal weekly tournament, just a testing session with the option of turning it into a small 8ish man.

Unfortunately, I might not be able to make it to Knight Ware this weekend, but feel free to go and enjoy yourselves.

I love the idea, and I work only about two saturdays a month and would happily make it out for at least one if not both that I am off. The problem with weekly events is always attendance. And between FNM when I can, the monthly events, prerelease and release events, the occcasional gpt, and such, its sometimes hard to fit more magic in. But that said if anyone is planning on going to sat and wants to test, PM me, I am free.

So a few of us are going to show up around 330ish.

Feel free to join us.

It's only excessive if there's such a thing as enough.

This (http://apriestofgix.com/legacy/index.php) is the best place to get information about when people are going to meet up, what local tournaments there are and other such shit.

So are these getting a good turnout? are these going to turn into weekly tournaments?

Last time we got 10. It was a pretty casual environment, trading and testing. I'm sure if the group would like to have a mini tournament, and our judge is there, Lori would oblige us.

But as of right now, no weekly tournament is scheduled.

I'm curious if there's going to be a legacy event over Thanksgiving day weekend... Anybody know? I'm going to be in L.A. and would love to sling some legacy. I've gotten some withdrawals from it after moving.

I know the store owner is having a casual day on the 28th.
