Okay, here we are entering a new holiday season. A season that just wouldn't be complete without a little bit of cheer, some hot elves (Yes Alliances Elvish Ranger #67 I'm talking to both of you), and a few liters of Trappistes Rochefort 10.

Last year seemed to be a huge success for 99% of the participants and I see no reason why we can't knock it out of the park for 2010. There were some very generous gifts given and some super fun times.

Because I'm first in the door, I guess I'll just get the ball rolling. We proposed a number of great ideas last year that I think we should incorporate to make things a bit more festive. A Santa alter contest, some Christmas tree lands and maybe some prize pools outside of the normal gift giving. So here are some proposals and some rules/guidelines;

Each participant must PMs me their contact information (Name, address, etc.) acknowledging their commitment to this year's SS by December 1st. I'll do my best to match up people in close proximity to keep postage costs at a minimum and also to expedite delivery time.

At that point, the contest will be open and all submissions should come via email so that we can post all entries for a secret vote. You should still send in your alters along with your SS gift to your recipient and we'll reveal the winner in time to send out the "prize" package.

I'm open to suggestions on this - send donated prize items/cash/Paypal/etc to a trustworthy person who will then distribute in time for Christmas. I want some help from some trusted members here as I want everyone to feel at ease with sending knowing they'll be receiving.

Which brings us to value limits/thresholds. I think it's typically at least $20 worth of cards (and that doesn't mean 40/50¢ cards). Mostly the items should be Legacy staples so everyone would do well to post a wish list and if you like post some of what you intend to deliver as that will be incentive for others to raise the bar. Please add some fun stuff as well such as related Magic stuff (counters, playmats, whatever).

Obviously everyone is not going to be able to send out $200 worth of cards and the expectation is not there. If you do want to send out a big package, please don't expect that you'll automatically get the same value in return. This is about having fun and celebrating the Legacy community during the holidays. Judging from last year though, most participants were quite generous.

So prior to sending me your address and commitment, let's have a brainstorming session about what we would like to do as far as a holiday theme alteration contest, prize pool, other related activities, & etc.

Holiday themed Land set (maybe panorama lands?)
Elf theme or alterd Llanowar Elves?

Prize pool stuff? If we do money maybe we can buy something everyone agrees on? A box of the newest set? A nice playset off Ebay? I don't know, let's discuss.

I need volunteers that can vouch or be vouched for. I'm an honest, hard-working guy but I don't really have a long standing presence here to back me up. I just love Legacy, enjoy the holidays and had tons of fun last year ramping up to this.

As for the alteration contest, I think that Legacy staples might be a better prize than boosters. Boosters tend to rarely have eternal useable cards in them.

EDIT: Would something along the lines of a fetch or two+a pile of common staples be too cheap? It's all I can basically do at this point. I'm afraid of looking like scrooge...

@Peguinizer - Please don't feel like you need to keep up with the Joneses. Just know that you get what you give and from my experience, it's always worthwhile. I'm going to give as much as I can but don't expect so much in return. If I get as much or more, all the better but everyone should go into this with the joy of giving in mind. This is one of the few times where Legacy is less about the cash grab and more about the community. Once we get going, everyone will be asked to post a wish list and if all you have is a few fetches (which is a lot by the way), then just ask for something you'd like to add to your collection. It's kind of like trading but with a bunch of bonuses thrown in. Another part that I like is when people give hints at what they are throwing in, that really gets the juices flowing and people seem to build off that.

@kiblast - You should totally take part. The more folks overseas that participate, the easier shipping will be for everyone. I think we pair up people in the same countries first and then if we have an odd person out, I would always be happy to send overseas. Nobody should be left out that wishes to participate.

Maybe they don't have your foil Primeval Titans but they have some foil Mongrels or whatever. Let me know if I missing anything.

Last year, I threw around the idea of giving a complete deck (sans sideboard). I happen to have a couple decks like Slivers and Burn that actually wouldn't be too painful to part with. Problem being, there's no way I'm parting with my FoWs (the only playset I have so they have to swap from deck to deck) so maybe they would be replaced with gold bordered FoWs and I can't see giving up Trops as I don't even have 4 of them. As for burn, the only painful thing would be the Chain Lightnings as they are mint and not the kind of card you want to go and buy again. Too much substituting is lame so we'll see how this idea pans out.

@android - I don't think we should have people making wish lists for cards worth that much. If people want to send something expensive out of the goodness of their hearts, by all means do. But I don't think we should list that kind of stuff in our lists. I would say to keep it reasonable, like not moxen and japanese foil staples.

But yeah, outlandish wishlists are just that. I mean list something that you yourself would be willing to part with. So maybe the 1st tier would be like FoW, foil rares, dual land. Second tier more like foil Brainstorm, staple rares, etc. And realistic request staple commons/uncommons.

And btw, because I've gotten a few comments about limits, etc. I myself would not part with my FoWs or any original Duals unless I had more than a playset. I think that's reasonable so don't feel like you're bound by whoever's wishlist you end up with. Just do your best and in the spirit of giving, please try to give something you yourself would like to receive. That way, in the end, everyone is happy. The alters are really going to spice things up as it's a little extra everyone can expect. I can't wait to see how bad some of these are going to be (probably mine). We should have prizes for best and worst.

Nope, the way it usually goes is when the deadline is up, I'll have everyone's info collected and I'll have to find a way to randomize senders/recipients so there is no bias. I'm pretty sure in years past, there may have been biases and I don't want that to happen. Granted, I may have to put some names into different hats if there is a problem with outrageous shipping costs but if everyone agrees to just let the bones fall where they may, we can just go totally random. We'll have to come to a consensus because I know it can get pretty expensive to send just a small package some places. Anyhow, when the deadline gets here and I randomize everyone, I'll send out PMs with your person's contact info including name address and online identity so you can go back and see what they requested.

As for the contest part of it, we can have a secret ballot once all entries are posted (maybe in another thread all together).

This post is about prize support for our various contests. As it stands, I'm willing to put up a portion of the prizes and cover the postage to mail them out to the winners. I'm not a wealthy man by any stretch to I'm asking for your input.

I have in my possession a sealed FTV: Relics which I paid retail for. I'm willing to cover postage to ship this (could be like $5 for domestic but then could be quite expensive overseas) but I don't want to be in it for that plus the $40+ I paid for it. Another option would be to just open it and distribute everything more evenly (including the die). I would still be in it for postage but maybe it wouldn't be as bad? I don't know.

Next, I have some revised duals that I may be willing to put up if I can recover some of the expenses I incurred in getting them. For example, I got one of my Badlands for like $17 and a Savannah for like $12 and I would probably be happy to put them up if I recovered that much.

It sounds like we could get one of those cool playmats at a discount too if folks were interested. Not sure how much but free would be awesome. Are you reading this Michael?

I don't think anyone should feel obligated to contribute more than your SS package but I felt like we could make it a little more, part lottery, part gift giving, part contest. If you guys think this is a bad idea, that's fine, we could always go another way but if I'm the only one putting stuff up for prize support, you might be at my mercy and I don't think I'll be able to put together a nice package for my SS recipient and do good prize support on my own.

So say at the end of the day, we beat last year's 48? participants and everyone (on average) pitches in $2, we could have awesome prize support. I'll pitch in say $25 plus whatever my postage comes out to be so we're already ahead. That's a challenge to anyone else who wants to make this thing bigger. If you're poor or you don't feel like you want to be that involved, don't stress about it. You may still have your name drawn for random prizes.

I'm still open to any fresh ideas on this as we have lots of time to work things out.

i'm for having a prize, let's say 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, for the ''Santa altered legacy staple contest''. Then, maybe 1st 2nd 3rd prize at random among all the partecipants.
Let's say that 48 partecipants drop an average 3$ each. We have a money stack of roughly 140-150$ to be splitted between all the prizes.

I would split as follows:

Santa's altering contest:

1st 30$ (of cards, playmat, nice foils,nice playsets, some cards from your FTV or wathever else.)
2nd 20$ ( " " " ")
3rd 10$ ( " " " ")

Random Santa's Prize:

1st 30$ (always cards, playmat, etc etc..wathever comes to mind Mtg-related)
2nd 20$
3rd 10$

What do you think? in this way we have spare 5-10$ from the fund to cover shipping fees.
Personally i would surely give more than 3$ for sure, so if we reach 150+$ prizes would be adjusted.

Just so everyone is comfortable with how things will be decided, I think we will stick to the secret ballot for the contests and I'll get one of the Source mods to be on the receiving end of the voting so there is not tampering with ballots. Then for the random, I think we can do a system where every participant gets a random number from 1-# of participants and that list will be held by mod and then another mod can pull numbers out of a hat. This way it's totally fair and not subject to any fraudulent activity.

Does that sound good?

My suggestion was for people to put a percentage of their income into the prize pool. The fraction that I came up with is .1%. That translates to a franklin if you are so fortunate to make 100k, and a draft entry for those still getting education. I trust that the people in this community would be honerable in this so I will assume as such, being that this is all for fun. The amount could be paid in non pimp legacy staples worth more than 10 bucks each, cash, unopenned product ( no precons), or pimpy stuff.

The moneys would then be used firstly for shipping, then prize purchases. The prizes would be gived out in the following manner, 25% would recieve some type of door prize (equating to approximately 40% of the total pool), and the rest would go to contests. Contests would be determined by a poll. There would be two contests. Coolest Alter contest, and another contest yet to be announced. I want to say a contest like best gift, but I don't want that to mean most expensive gift.

The prizes would be approximately 10% of the total value for Each place, 1st through 3rd, for each contest. Anyone not interested could not participate in the contest and door prize portion of the Secret Santa.

@Android: Doesn't sound too bad. We just need some way of knowing the drawing of the random prizes was fair, for example video evidence. Another possibility is to use a publicized random number, for example a lottery number from a predetermined lottery at a predetermined date.

Another way to fairly distribute the door prizes is to create an ordered list, such as the one listing all of our names, then add up the total yards of offense in the NFL in a particular week. Then divide the yards by the number of participants and find the remainder. Count the remainders number of positions down the list. The spot you arive at will be the beginning of the winners of the random door prize. If there are more door prizes than number of people remaining below that point on the list, move to the top and continue counting people until you reach n, where n is the number of door prizes.

I think that the number of yards should be sufficiently large enough to ignor starting position so this should be fair. In addition, we can all watch the NFL yelling no whammy, no whammy, stop.

@Zlatzman: we will make sure everything is fair and transparent. I don't want anyone to feel like it was somehow fixed. The contests should be more of a side note to the SS giving (which is really what this is all about). Or maybe a better word would be enhancement to SS.

@ramanujan: I like that idea too but I wonder if most people on here either have $0 income or aren't going to be willing to pitch in that much. I myself am willing to pledge about $50 of my own stuff/money and that's not including time or effort or my own SS gifts. I don't expect anyone else to match this as I'm just trying to make it fun.

Part of the problem I've been trying to work out is how to fairly distribute prizes. We need something that acts as an escrow so people don't have to fear me having all this money sent my way and then I disappear, which is obviously not going to happen but I would want some sort of assurance that I wasn't just dropping money into a bottomless well. We could pool money via Paypal into some online vendor for a joint order and then when contest time rolls around, give them the winners addy. Not sure if I totally like that idea though as I personally would want to know and see what specifically the prizes are.

As for the other part, about the contests, I've updated the front page with a list of participants, the pending contests (where I will fill in prizes as we work them out) and some other information. I scratched the idea of a prize for best gift or something as I really want everything going out at the same time; SS gifts & all prizes. By mid December, I want to be able to open the SS Brag thread and just have it contain pure enjoyment and no business.

Primarily, everyone has to be in on this with SS at the forefront. I don't want people to focus too much on prizes or contest even though they may end up being right up there with the best SS gifts.

I'm really pushing for some vendors to throw something our way but I'm not sure how the Source will see that. I mean he always comes around when we're discussing legacy prices. Balanced or not, mark my words, "In Legacy, everyone should have a playset." I don't want to turn the thread into the great Mox arguement but the way I see it, free mana is free mana. In some cases, it's just a Lotus Petal, in other cases, it's true accelleration without card disadvantage. Current combo decks basically just go off with either counter support or targeted discard to clear the path. They are not super resilient and get blown out with graveyard removal, discard, well placed counters, etc. So when your basically playing all in and you need that 1 more mana to go off, this card could be the card you're looking for.

Anyhow, back the program because I'm not spending $20-30 on one of these for myself or for prize support. I agree, maybe regular staples aren't worthy prizes but parting with my one foil Aether Vial or my one foil Sensei's Divining Top is going to be pretty difficult. Then again, I really don't care for foils so maybe this will happen.

Keep shooting ideas my way and by mid-November, I promise we will have all prizes detailed in the first post. Nothing half-ass, everything will be good shit.

BTW, everyone should visit that playmat site I posted and help pick out which playmat we should get. Not all of them are Magical, some are anime. The magic ones are pretty hot though so post your 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks maybe and we'll get that narrowed down.

I almost made an offer today on an Ebay lot of 5 packs (Antiquities, Legends, Revised, Dark & FE) but passed because all those packs are searched. I also made an offer for a couple packs of Korean Visions for $10+shipping per pack. All of these I was going to throw into the prize pool but they didn't work out. As far as SS gifts, the more creative, the better so personally, I would be stoked with a pack of Alliances.

@kusumoto: Alters will be photographed and then sent to your SS recipient. The photos will be entered into a vote based contest for prizes. So I know there is going to be a pretty wide range of quality on these alters but it's all for fun.

Awesome. Thanks for the list of cards. God I sucked hard at Magic back then. So I think stick to the banned list but any other cards are usable. Limit of 4 of any one card, 40 card decklists. MWS would be great but there are a bunch of people (myself included) that only have Macs. Mine is getting kind of old too so I'm not sure any of the emulators would work. It would also be really difficult to coordinate a time. If you can get something going with say 20 people, go for it and I'll honor the winner.

All participants must send their name/address info to me by Dec 1st. All contest entries can come in as they are completed. Only people signed up for SS can participate in contests. Should take a day or two to get names paired up. Jander78 vouched for the Source mods assisting in both pairing and randomizing for door prizes. They will also collect and tally votes on any contests where we award prizes. I'll give them details on how we want to do this.

SS pairings will be random unless someone wishes to only ship domestic (or Europe to Europe) in which case they will only be paired within geographic limits.

For the subjective voting, it's possible to win more than one category (I think this is fair).

Voting may take a week but then I will mail all prizes out and they should be in the winner's hands before Christmas (unless it takes 2 months to get to you - Europe). I think generally, standard letter mail will make it just about anywhere in under 2 weeks.

One more thing. I was considering having all the best prizes as the random door prizes. Does that sound okay? Are people concerned that the randomization would be compromised somehow? I want to do everything to ensure that people trust the system and that the methods are transparent. I also want the other contests to be fun and funny, not a real competition where the sharks move in just to win some prizes instead of focusing on the fun SS aspect of this event.

This is just he prize pool as it stands. I hope to add a bunch more prizes of similar caliber. I don't want to get in too far over my head with shipping costs and whatnot but ideally, we award prizes to about half all participants. Please read my post above about my idea for the random door prizes.

For example, I would like to give out stuff like the Sol Ring, Mox Diamond, Plateau, Tarmogoyf, etc. as random. That way there's more of an emphasis on lottery than contest but I'm willing to consider everyone's suggestions so please pipe in.

Yeah, I guess that GR decklist is pretty wide open to interpretation if you think about it. Considering most people here either weren't born yet or didn't play magic back then. The idea was to build a deck in Christmas colors but from cards printed from like mirage back. As far as the BR list back then, yikes. So here's clearing it up a bit:

40 card decklist no sideboard
Only red green and artifacts allowed
Standard Magic rules for deck construction (no more than 4 of any one card)
Current Legacy BR restrictions apply (sorry to those who already built a deck with restricted cards)
Cardpool is pre 1996 (I think that puts us at Mirage on back?) Correct me if I'm wrong or I'll just go verify when I get to work.

- make one (or more!) christmas-related alter for the 1st contest (to be included on the gift)

SS Participation includes:

Exchange of Legacy staple cards with a value of around $20 with a randomized recipient. (mandatory)

Alter a card or two with Christmas theme. Rules are loose on this one. I would like this to be more fun than serious. Ideas include; Santa alter, land alter, etc. (optional) - prizes awarded

RG decklist (optional) - prizes awarded

Randomized door prizes (everyone that signs up has their name go into the drawing) - likely the best prizes awarded

I hope that simplifies things. If you want to scribble with magic marker on a card and call it an alter, great. Who knows, maybe the idea will be so brilliant and original that you'll catch the eye of the voting public (all of us). RG decklist is really just a throwback to the olden days of magic, pre-true archetype. I had two decks back then, a BU control deck with Serra Angel/Vesuvan Doppleganger finishers and an RG deck with Apes, Bolts, Forks, Fireballs, Channels, Mana Flare, Force of Nature and Shivan Dragon. Anyhow, I didn't really know how to play magic but I had just as much fun. It's a chance for us older Magic players to reminisce about the early days before everything got so serious. It's also an opportunity for younger or newer Magic players to see what it was like with a more limited card pool.

One last important thing. We will be breaking down the participant list into two groups. Those that are willing to ship anywhere in the world and those that wish to only ship within their immediate geographical area. I would like to keep it as two groups but I'm not exactly sure how to handle say someone from Europe who wishes to only ship within Europe. Help me out here people.

I've been dumping my foils too. There are a few I keep (D&T) but the big money stuff I sell off and the rest I bulk.

I don't know, aside from the rarity, I don't think they're all that special. It seems like when a foil goes from NM to any lower condition, it suddenly looks like shit. Non-foil cards can be beat to shit and still maintain a certain aesthetic quality. But to each their own. Hopefully I can supply some of what my person has on their wishlist. I sure as hell am not going to go bid on a $75 uncommon to fulfill their request though. If I have it, I have it.

I liked Stormbind as a win con too but I elected to keep my strategy as linear as possible. I just want to chump and fog the early stuff then do a sweeper or two. Late game I hope to just Vindicate one or two things before my opponent decks. Tornado is my ace in the hole. It's such a terrible card and I almost ran Flares to power it but then figured I don't really have an out to a massive Fireball so the deck stands as is. My strategy against bigfireball.dec is to land that Jokulhaups before they reach lethal. Then before they can rebuild their mana base, they deck out.

I basically lose to burn.dec, I know.

edit: Ha! I added a Tormod's Crypt because Lorgalis altered the meta. :)

Yeah man, that's the decklist that is most typical of the fast aggro RG decklists I remember. Of course, back then I think you could still use the Channel/Fireball combo. It's hard to win against a deck that just keeps coming at you. My version would include some Harvest Wurm's to feed off the Rogue Elephants and Orcish Lumberjacks then maybe finish with a Lands Edge or something.

If anyone happens to either be in the Domestic shipping section and is willing to ship Worldwide or is in the Worldwide and wishes to only ship within Europe, please let me know. I'd like to maybe limit the groups to three; America(s), Europe/Asia, Worldwide. If there happens to be say, 2 people who are both in China and they both feel like shipping is going to be too much for them, I guess they could get paired but that would take some of the mystery out of it. Ideally, everyone would agree to ship anywhere and we'd only have one pool but I know how much cost/risk people feel there is in shipping overseas. I'm thinking we are going to have zero problems this year (right guys?) so no worries.

I'm very excitedly getting my package pool together and hopefully when I get my mystery name, I'll have something on their list in addition to everything else I'm going to be sending. I plan on doing like I did last year and sending about 100 cards. Can't guarantee they will all be Legacy staples but enough of them should be that it won't be any kind of let down. My goal is to send at least one card of $20+ value (lately just about any good Legacy card is around $40), and then some mid value cards, some staples, some nostalgia cards, some foreign tokens/lands, some crappy foil foreign EDH chaff, some funny stuff (Unhinged/Unglued?), some alters (we'll see how this turns out), some signed cards, maybe some spin-down dice, maybe some card separators or life counter things like they used to put in fatpacks, maybe a fatpack box if I have doubles (sure I do), etc. Basically anything that is interesting. I've sold off most of my bulk cards over the past few years so my collection becomes more and more consolidated with stuff I hang onto for one reason or another. It should be a great surprise and a fun gift to tear open.

So, get in the spirit, encourage a few more people to join up and let's make sure we keep the standard up so that next year we have something to top. I really think we can do it and we have another 3 weeks until the deadline. I think we are one person away from matching last years attendance of 48 participants.

Well contests are open now so people should be submitting alters and decklists. I have Thanksgiving week off (also my B-Day!) so I'll get busy pulling together some mods to help out with pairing SS->recipients. Technically, people can join up until December 1st but realistically, we could make the cutoff a week before so we can have everything in order on Dec 1st. On that day (± a day) I want to have all door prizes, contest winners, SS assignments complete. I will post winners and start licking stamps so everyone should receive prizes probably before they even send out their SS packages. I expect everyone to have their mail out in about 1 week from SS assignments. We'll open a separate brag post about mid-December. As you send out your SS package, let me know and I'll mark - Sent & the date. Same with receptions. I'll post all that in this original list which will stay open until everyone has received (or taken care of). Last year 1 or 2 people didn't receive and I believe Magic Fanatic put together special packages for them. Hopefully I'm not faced with the same burden because everyone is going to get their shit out, Right?

Congratulations! With geosgaen0's commitment, we've exceeded last year's number. Yay! Keep up the good work and stay busy with your alters (even if that means taking a Sharpie to a basic forest). BTW, I really love the lists as it brings me back to the days when simplicity ruled. The card pool nowadays kind of sucks in the respect that there are so many obsolete cards. I mean probably 98% of cards (maybe more) are entirely unplayable in competitive magic. I love an environment where winning decklists include Orcish Oriflame and Brassclaw Orcs.

Soooo close folks. I would like so see some alteration entries otherwise, that contest will be nixed and the prizes just rolled into the random prize giveaway extravaganza. Not a big deal but it would be more fun to see some silly artwork. Anyhow, before it gets all hectic and businesslike, I'd like to thank everyone for participating and remind everyone that this event is what you make it so do your best to share in the holiday spirit. I'll be getting in contact with the mods to arrange the randomization process. Trust that whatever method they use, it will be fair and random. I'll list out what the prizes are in order.

So like:

prize1 is 10 foreign snow-covered lands
prize2 is Japanese Tarmogoyf
prize3 is blah blah blah

I will simply submit X names and Y prizes and they will return to me who got what prize. They likely won't even have reviewed the list of prizes.

Same deal with name exchanges with the exception that there will have to be 2 pools; ship anywhere and ship domestic US. There seems to be pretty equal participants in both pools so it's going to work out well.

Decklists will be compiled into a thread with a survey I think. It would be great if someone would volunteer to set this up as I've never done a survey thread before. The volunteer will get my thanks and maybe even a little surprise gift in the mail. First person to contact me gets the honors.

I think it's fair to include hot items in your wish list. Just ask yourself though if you are going to part with the same shit you're wishing for. The way I look at it, I'm happy to put up a playset of vials, some $60 boxed set or the crappiest dual land because I feel generous this year. That's not even what I'll be sending to my SS person. Would I expect to get anything like that in my package? Probably not but I will be grateful for whatever I receive. Obviously I hope it's at least worth trading up for other things if I don't intend to use what I get. Please everyone keep in the spirit of giving and then we can all get a nice surprise in the mail. I always feel bad for people who don't get much when others get great gifts but that's the way it goes sometimes. In a certain sense, this is like a blind trade. Everyone puts some cards into a bag and then everyone reaches in and grabs some.

Okay guys, I've tried contacting 3 different mods to run our numbers for random prizes and none have even responded.

So I have a plan. I found a site: Random.org that supposedly can generate a truly random sequence of numbers. So what I will do for the door prizes is generate a random sequence from 1-53 (reflecting the 53 participants listed in alphabetical order) and the first 20 numbers will be WINNARS!!!

Then I will do something similar for SS matchups. Currently, we have 29 peeps from the US that wish to only ship domestically and then we have 25 that will ship worldwide. I will move from WW to US (because I'm already going to be shipping all over the world) so we have even numbers in both groups, then I will generate 2 more random sequences of 1-30 & 1-24 which will match up respectively with the userIDs as listed alphabetically in the first page.

I hope nobody has a problem with this as it is the most fair way of doing it that I can think of. You're all just going to have to trust the guy who is putting a bunch of money, time and effort up for this thing that I'm being 100% honest and fair. I will paste the numbers as they were generated for the random prizes and then make an alphabetical list of all participants to correspond to.

if i got it right, search your nick in the namelist. If you are, let's say, in the 27th position, just check the 27th number in the randomized number list. Read yours: if it is less or equal than 20 (the number of prizes), you got a prize.

There was a little bit of confusion as to what the numbers meant. Some folks thought it was the paring info but that is incorrect. The pairing info will be distributed secretly. We don't want people to know who has who, you'll only know who you send to until everybody receives. I'll have record of who is paired so I can crack the whip as needed (hopefully this won't be a problem). Everyone should receive a PM at some point today with the person's info they are going to send to.

I kinda feel bad that this year I sent so much less then last year I was just looking at what I shipped last year OMG. I was hitting the eggnog hard. Power, fetches, altered generals...err commanders, artist proofs. This may end up being my last year for this considering I had to scrape for this years since we did a purge this summer and I got rid of about 150k cards. And only kept some tradables and my play decks. But we will see its like crack you may quit for a few days but as soon as someone offers me a collection to buy I may just whip out the checkbook. I am playing only online and my EDH...OOPS my bad Commander and my Stack/Cube. I kept a couple legacy decks to play if I ever end up somewhere with a legacy scene. Ours died.

Pack your own foil Japanese stuff lol Since I don't like Foreign stuff much, I decided to send my mystery guy a bunch of foreign crap I had around. It sucks. I also mailed out a pack of Fallen Empires because it's awesome. :P All Joking aside, the rest of the batch should put a smile on your face. I may only have mostly English stuff, but what I have is pretty decent.

I've been pretty busy lately so I apologize for not joining in on the fun.

Santa got me a job offer for Christmas, so I can finally start working on getting my presents out. A ton of people sent out already, it's only the fourth :eek: Looks like I'm pretty behind. Here's to catching up!

I guess I don't really have a wish list, I have Legacy wants, but I also like just good old non-foil foreign stuff. I rarely trek over to owning foreign cards but I admit they do look cool.

One thing for everyone to consider is when you send out your package, do everyone a favor and use a bubble mailer and then go to your post office and ask for delivery notification. It's only 79 cents and it gives you a tracking number. It sucks to have lost packages and right now the post office is flooded beyond reason so getting one lost can happen during these times. Do yourself a favor and get that extra little thing so you can be able to tell exactly where that package is. It's also good so you know you are getting the right amount of postage and not overpaying or underpaying. Getting your package back a few days before Christmas because you didn't put enough postage on would be slightly embarrassing.

Yeah, not to dismiss your artistic talent but that bear is pretty close to the worst artwork in Magic: the Gathering history. I mean sure there's Camouflage and Word of Command but in this case the artist was actually trying. So any doodling you did was a vast improvement on what was originally there. Anything with a bra means titties and titties are hot even on an ugly bear, haha.
