I have a tournament this weekend and I am at a loss for what to play.

My expectations for the meta game are a combination of blue based decks (likely counter-top and a few vengevival and storm decks). I don't expect to much storm at all though.

I can play nearly any deck I want so availability really isn't an issue. The only deck I couldn't play is Lands!!!

I feel extremely comfortable with nearly any deck in the format. I have played legacy for many years now so experience isn't much of an issue either.

Ideas???

Suggestions???

Thanks.

Merfolk with some SB hate for Survival seems pretty good.

Saitofolk with some Extirpates in the board perhaps. But there's a thread (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?11720-What-Should-I-Play-In-My-Metagame) for this.

Gw Survival: It beats Fish, Tempo and Zoo and has ~50% matchup against almost every other deck, except combo.

Thanks for the thread heads up... I wish there was a more efficient way to locate specific meta games in the other thread. Perhaps the Admins could look into creating a separate section the format discussion to more easily locate desired meta game deck idea break downs... for example Heavy Blue meta (thread) heavy midrange meta (thread) etc. etc.

I'm not sure we actually need this, but I don't really think so. If you want to know if some decks share any bad matchups you can just look in the threads for those decks. Then you can check in the thread(s) for the deck(s) you found to be good against your meta check if they have similar results for those matchups. There are two issues with this method: at first it might take some time to properly check all the decks and the other issue is that people rarely agree on matchups and sometimes matchups heavily depend on the build you're playing. But since you should at least test a few games with the deck you want to play, this is not that bad.

Except that Dragon Stompy is a bad deck for that meta. To my knowledge Dragon Stompy is not exactly good against control. And my team tests Dragon Stompy extensively.
