Good to see.

After that shit with the Reserved List, I was 50/50 they were going to dump Legacy altogether.

Overall, a good schedule.

Living on CT we were ecstatic to hear about the Providence GP. My group is close enough so we can just drive there either day, so I'm quite happy.

Great news, and good decision from Wizards. Very excited that European Legacy GP is in Netherlands, and reachable from any part of Europe

Too bad it's in Amsterdam. I bet I won't be able to play at all after spending two days there.

/Edit: Oh, and a GP in Hamburg isn't that healthy for my liver, either.

Dunno how I'll manage that. Not taking any money with me, just enough for the entry fee and some prepared meals sounds like a plan.
...I already see myself trading my food for weed. Darn.

When do you think GP Amsterdam will be held? Since it feeds PT 2012 #1 I guess it will take place in kinda late 2011...so much time to wait :-(

But thumbs up for 2 Legacy GPs! :-)

No need for that, just buy your chronic from a coffee shop.

Good to see legacy support in Europe. I definitely try to make it.

First thing to say, the promo card is awsome!!

Good to have a Legacy GP in Europe, but why isn't the date planned??

If it's a good period of the year I'll be able to go there!!

I also had the same concern, glad to be proved wrong. It's hard to tell now, but I would definitely love to attend GP Amsterdam, since I missed Madrid due to work schedule this year.

Well, same for me... :frown:

Anyways I didn't even think of the chance of not having a Legacy GP in 2011 after the success they had this year..

Not really, you'll have to see my face again ;)

Anyways, I'm excited...I really must top my result from Madrid, since it was rather dissapointing. 88th = (

It's probably held around the last weekend of November.

While I know you were gunning for higher, after all winning is the goal of any tournament, 88th place out of 2,000 people still seems.... not too shabby.

How much does it cost to attend a GP? Because Providence is damn close. Like, 200 miles close.

Depends entirely on how many people you get to split the hotel room with you.

The price for entering at GP Columbus this year was $35 (I'm pretty sure). The hotel I got for 3 nights (since I didn't want to travel Sunday night) was $300, and originally was going to be split 4 ways for $75 a person (which is pretty good), and then factor in gas, food, any cards you want to buy from dealers, any side evens you want to play, etc.

It's not cheap, but if you do it right, it's not super expensive either.

I will try to go to both. I don't know how well I will do in Amsterdam, but I play all the time high, so I guess I got an edge :P.

Providence? Really? They couldn't pick somewhere people actually want to visit?

Amsterdam???? Nice!

Seems like they liked it at the PT, I really hope they'll host it again at the Theater Factory, that was a great place and a lot more tasteful then the open hall in Madrid was.

The only thing I hate is to determine if I'll make 2 day and have to book an hotel..... I can pay an hotel in another country without any problems since it's part of a vacation, but Amsterdam is an hour and a half drive for me. I wouldn't book an hotel for that, but that would mean a 5 hour sleep if I drive back home when making day 2.

Oh well, still a year to decide I guess. I'm really happy we got another GP and at least I won't have to fly after driving to Amsterdam (for the airport) like last year.

And who knows, starting 1 November I'm starting out my own company, if it gets successful fast I could even pay for a trip to Providence.

I will try to go to both. I don't know how well I will do in Amsterdam, but I play all the time high, so I guess I got an edge :P.

For all foreigners visiting the Netherlands and planning to get stoned: please keep in mind the weed being sold over here, is way stronger then the illegal stuff you can get at home. For your own health, please take it easy. It doesn't matter how much experience you think you have, start out slow. You wouldn't be the first tourist who goes KO after taking a hit the way they are used to.

I went to GP Columbus this year with $50 in my pocket, and left with $100.

But usually $500 is safe if you can budget right.

100$ Right now says it will be the largest constructed tournament in history. It is not only one of the easiest places to get to in Europe, it has tons of allure as being just a great place to visit. Not to mention, it is the cheapest place to fly in all of Europe from the US. Huge huge turnout.

I agree.

A year from now I predict we have interested even more people into the format. Madrid had a ridiculous amount of people gathered and it's located a little on the outskirts of Europe. Amsterdam is a lot easier to get to by car from different countries and we have one of the biggest airports (when counting passenger flights, being a transfer terminal and such) of Europe.

Being a part of the experience in Madrid really tastes like more to me and I hope we can gather 2500ish people in Amsterdam. Being the mediocre player I am, it'll make it harder to make day 2 (finished 722th in Madrid). However it will be worth the experience. I'm going to excite some friends who never been to a tournament before into going to this, it might make one of the more memorable events in magic history.

I do really hope Wizards doesn't crew up and plan the GP at the first weekend on December though. It's a Dutch unofficial holiday comparable to the commercial part of christmas in the States. Actually it's on the monday after, but lots of families celebrate it at the weekend before the 5th.

It's actually a small children's holiday, however lots of grown ups celebrate it too with their families. That could really hurt the attendance of the Dutch crowd.

Unless prop 19 passes,I'm afraid I will be selling my mtg legacy decks for weed before the tournament begins. Places like Amsterdam really put things into perspective. Guess i'll save my legacy burn deck for the symbolism... Furthermore,so we're all on equal footing, I think there should be mandatory rules to get everyone stoned during the tournament

I've decided too book an hotel anyway, although I won't make day 2 (side events are pretty cool anyway). As I've only been to Amsterdam for pleasure 2 or 3 times (been there countless times for work), I'm open to go on a rampage tour with some Americans that weekend.

Taking a walk through the red light district, smoking grass, those kind of things. You could also ask Skeggi to do so, but the guy lives in Amsterdam, so there's no fun in getting lost with him...

Ahhh... I still remeber the day I read there was going to be a Legacy GP 20 minutes away from my bed.

People is pretty excited over here and we're already talking about the trip. Fuck the roads, nowadays we want cities with access to lots of low-cost flights. And of course is a great place to wander and have fun, so I'm sure that some hundreds of spanish legacy freaks will be there, specially if we consider that we the poorer guys (aka the students) have more than a year to save some money...

So yeah. I'll probably be the guy with 3-5 other people with him who have no idea who anyone on The Source is.
Also, Amsterdam. Plane tickets from JFK to Amsterdam are about $800 round-trip.
And I don't speak your heathen dutch devil-tongue.
But... Amsterdam!
What happens if I have to get a drug test due to being on probation (not likely but totally possible) like a week after I get back for whatever reason? Do I just show them my travel info?

I don't think you can leave the country if you're on probation. I guess it's up to your PO's discretion.
