In this scenario, I have a Ratchet Bomb with 3 counters on it, and my opponent has a Mimic Vat with my Sea Gate Oracle imprinted on it. In my endstep, the other guy pays 3 and taps the Vat. In response, I tap and sacrifice my Ratchet Bomb. What happens?

Does a Oracle token come into play? Or does the Vat ability fizzle because there is no card currently imprinted on the Vat (because it's in the graveyard)?

The same situation could be recreated with a million different removal spells in response to a Vat activation. It's more of a Standard-related question, but it may someday be relevant.

Thanks in advance guys!

When the source of an ability (in this case Mimic Vat) has changed zones between activating and resolving the ability, its last known information is used, if the ability needs to know something about it. When Mimic Vat left the battlefield, Sea Gate Oracle was imprinted on it, so the ability will make a copy of Sea Gate Oracle.

Ok then, that answers it perfectly. I didn't know that Vat "remembers" what creature was imprinted on it.

Thank you Luma!

If I mimic vat cryptoplasm and I have the token during my upkeep if I make the token a copy of another creature. Does that copy still have the mimic vats exile at the next endstep trigger.

The copy does not "have a trigger" - Mimic Vat adds no text. It's just a normal delayed trigger - Mimic Vat's ability creates it and it waits around until the specified time.
