Imprinted Spell and Permission

My opponent has a Lightning Helix imprinted on Isochron Scepter. He then uses activates the Scepter to Lightning Helix my Painter's Servant.

Can I use a permission spell to counter Lightning Helix coming out of the Scepter?

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Since Isochron Scepter puts a copy of the card onto the stack, similar to Storm, you can now target the spell. Anything that interacts with spells on the stack can target this copy.

Isochron Scepter has you play the copy - it doesn't put the copy on the stack.
