Destroy target land. Search your library for a Forest card and put that card onto the battlefield tapped. Then shuffle your library.

This card is a tempo machine, in one convenient package. I think it'd be pretty damn good in a deck that makes use of something like root maze.

It's Rampant Growth and Sinkhole in one card. Both parts are good early in the game. After turn 3 both cards are bad. So the combined effect nets you a card for a price of making both effects almost useless. Seems awful.

Well sinkhole isn't so bad in a shell that is predicated entirley on LD. Trisomy 21 is a good example. Each Sinkhole only ensures victory especially when they start fetching basics after you've Wastelanded their dual.

I have been toying with building the most competitive deck I can using Rootmaze, Stifle, Wasteland, Plow Under and mana ramp effects. I can say that Acid Moss is pretty strong. It's one of those cards though that would be totally broken at 3cmc but just about entirely unplayable at 4cmc. But we'll see with more testing.

I didn't realize we gave up legacy to play Pauper. That's about the only competitive game of magic this card should really see.

This card is Plow Under which was better in Standard but obviously never made it to Extended let alone Legacy. I don't see it.

Not a bad EDH ramp if you're looking to LD opponents

Try it with Limited Ressources in your casual group. They will like it ... not.

that card is so unbelievably awesome in EDH. Esp in a dedicated LD deck like Azusa. That, followed by Plow under... dick move. Totally dick move.

Though Plow Under did make it to Vintage.

I used to love playing Plow Under in extended when people were still trying to run Tooth & Nail. This card would of been good then too. Sadly enough, this card would still shake up games where Sims and I play. We are horrible Magic players, on purpose.

We are. Horrible is fun.

But that aside, there really isn't a reason to be running this card over Creeping Mold for flexibility. Do you need the ramp that much?

My impression is that this card would be very good right now in Standard.

It would but I'm glad it's not there. The last thing ramp decks need is another way to get by on control.

The card shouldn't be played in Legacy. It isn't good enough, although I greatly admire the way the card is developed. The ROI would be need to be greatly improved to even dream of seeing play in a competitive Legacy deck. For that cost, it would need to be an instant and give you an addition card (whether searching up another land or cantripping). If they scaled the cost down to :2::g:, then it would also be playable, in my view. Even these modifications might not be good enough (the latter having the best chance to being competitive, in my view).
