Once upon a time there was a deck called Intuition Demigod then wind changed, mystic was banned and the deck was forgotten. Now, in those dark days of Survival of The Fittest i see some analogies between the old Demigod and the new Vine.
Maybe we could build a doube strategy Survival..

Creature Pack

4 Birds of Paradise
// Mana fix + Creature count for Vine
4 Tarmogoyf
// Never say no to Tarmogoyf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X21mJh6j9i4
3 Vengevine
// Surpise attack #1
3 Demigod of Revenge
// Surpise attack #2
4 Basking Rootwalla
// Creature count for Vine @ 0

Defense Dept.

4 Duress
4 Thoughtseize
2 Hymn to Tourach
// I don't like BB very much but starting with Bayou, ritual, Duress, Hymn is awesome..

Engine

4 Survival of the Fittest

Fixers & Boost

2 Dark Ritual
3 Crop Rotation
// don't worry reason is coming...

Manabase

2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
// Mana fix and helps..
2 Lake of the Dead
// T Forest,gain G>Crop for lake>T Swamp,gain B>Sacr. Swamp>gain BBBB from lake>play Demigod +nDemi> Swing for the Win
4 Bayou
3 Swamp
4 Forest
4 Verdant Catacombs

Empty Space : 4 slot

Pros
Black offers strong Hand denial and Spot removals for creatures (Shriekmaw could be tutored by survival)
Green offers removals for artifacts and entchantments like Krosan Grip
Black & Green= Deed & Pulse
Green has a teroric protection for Graveyard that's Ground Seal
Black offers also Volrath's Stronghold for midgame solution if something went wrong
Cons
What do we have to do if we haven't SofT?Deck manipulation and drawing is sub zero...maybe we can add Confidant or Fauna shaman
Extirpate = Death...and we can't play Chalice@1

Any Suggestion?

Thank you for reading :D

Smallpox would fit the discard outlet formula. Maybe Loam to get back fetches and lands sac'd, serving purpose of dredging wins and helping with land. A single Genesis might not be horrible if you run out of hand, but I don't have a ton of exp with Veng. I see crop rotation and Urborg, part of me wants to say include 1x Maze as well :)

I think the Dark Rituals could come out. Having only 2 in the deck makes it unlikely they will be in your opening hand and they are a dead draw late game. I'm not sure what you might want to replace it with since the deck looks pretty tight as is but I would consider 2 utility creatures since you can tutor for them with Survival.

Thx to all :D

@Mystical Jackass: i'm suspicious about the small pox.. playing i found problems finding the Survival of the Fittest and for discarding a single card has a big drawback for us sacrificing a land and a creature that could be a Bird. If you was thinking about a secondary discard outlet maybe a Cabal Therapy + Infernal Tutor is better for dumping multiple copies of Vine/Demigod, IMHo, maybe i'm wrong. On the other hand the Genesis, Life from the loam and the Maze are excellent advices :D :D

@dirtytapes: yes, you're right but without the rites i don't feel very confortable with BB in some spell, and the demigod first of all. however 2 rites, as you say, are too occational.

Here some changes:
{4} free slots
- 2 Hymn of Turach
- 2 Dark Ritual

+1 Genesis
+2 Life From the Loam
+1 Maze of Ith
+4 Fauna shaman - we need Survival Effects !!

Some more thinkins - i was thinking about move out the demigods and put a Vampire Hexmage + Dark Depths combo... we have both land and creature tutoring, it could be a 2° wincon that's not graveyard dependent... or adding this as a 3° win con replacing the 4 Fauna Shaman and the maze with 3 hexmage and 2 Depths. Another one thought was about Xantid Swarm..Easy to cast and allows to play a easy Survival in the Postcombat mainphase..

as usual thx for reading :D

If you're messing around with Vengevine/Demigod of Revenge Survival...I get your deck's consistency up to par (should you not get Survival in your opening hand).

1) You're already playing Dark Ritz...why not turn 1 Buried Alive? You can essentially 'combo' all 4 Demigods this way by playing the 4th on turn 3-4, attack for 20.

2) Avatar of Discord is on my mind...it's a pretty nice threat with a 4-turn clock, and gets stuff in the yard like Vengevine/Demigod. I saw someone mention Genesis...why not Anger? I'd rather play a 5/3 flyer than Smallpox. This is an aggro deck, after all. In all reality, it strains your manabase to a 3rd color (red) and a required mountain in play for Anger to function. I still like the idea though, of turn 1 b/r duel land>>Dark Ritual>>Avatar of Discord>>discard Anger + Vengevine/Demigod/Bloodghst, attack for 5.

3) Where's the Bloodghasts?!?!?!? Just one more efficient (FREE witha landfall) threat that gets better by discarding it with Survival.

4) Dark Confidant seems like a bad idea without Tops. If you play one, play the other.

5) Eternal Witness seems better than Genesis, TBH. If your strategy goes a little sour, you can get hosed Survivals back, or just Thoughtseize/Duress back for more disruption if you're getting ready to 'combo'.

6) If you have 8 Duress effects, I don't like Hymn. This is a spot where Tops could be squeezed in. Crop rotation gets BETTER with Tops, for sure. If you don't want Tops, you could use Mirri's Guile, but Mirri's Guile is just a 'worse' Sylvan Library. First choice = Tops, second choice = Librarys.

If you're playing Bloodghasts, you should also play Cabal Therapy - it's so gross with them!

I top8ed a local recently with something like this. Here's the list:

4x Demigod of Revenge
4x Vengevine
4x Fauna Shaman
4x Quirion Ranger
4x Birds of Paradise
4x Orcish Lumberjack
3x Basking Rootwalla
1x Shield Sphere
2x Wild Mongrel

4x Survival of the Fittest
4x Thoughtseize
2x Cabal Therapy
2x Jitte

4x Taiga
3x Bayou
1x Badlands
1x Forest
4x Wooded Foothills
4x Verdant Catacombs
2x Windswept Heath

Lumberjack is pretty absurd and gives you the hilarious turn 3 demigod kill. I'm testing a version right now that I like:

-1 Forest
-1 Jitte
-2 Cabal Therapy

+3 Enlightened Tutor
+1 Savannah

I would just like to say... I love Orcish Lumberjack!!!

A pet favorite card of mine.

Since you're running BG Survival, why not add Necrotic Ooze combo in there?

So far I haven't found it necessary, and demigods are better at beating down. When your mana is constrained however, the ooze combo is nice to have. Demigod is not always castable unfortunately.

Sideboard I recommend Nature's Claim, Therapy, Extirpate, Mindbreak Trap, Shriekmaw, and Sulfur Elemental (nice peacekeeper).

As one of the creator of demigod survival decks, I am now with the following list :
The deck is really awesome, demigod interacts quite well with lumberjack+fauna shaman, quirion ranger is quite good with fauna shaman etc...
The one off flame jab in sb is mainly for peacekeper and elf.
Playing vengevines+demigod is quite good against hate, they need double extirpate to handles your kills and you are less vulnerable to perish.
Cephalid coliseum is awesome with knights+loam, i use it quite often.
Loam+orcish, loam+knight, loam+firestorm is quite good.
