To allow people enough time to get their Legacy fill before needing to drop, the start time for the second Draft Open has been moved back to 2pm.

Just scrubbed out and preparing to go elsewhere, but I would like to say;

--Great event; thanks to Star City for running it.
--Met some cool people (including mossivo1986 and this dude Steve, who I may have hooked into the Source when he's done winning the tournament).
--Meta was rivagulous, I should have not been so feeble of heart and audibled into Ad Nauseum like my gut told me to.
--Also @ Star City; you guys should really come to Cleveland or Rochester or somewhere else I can actually get to, so I can go to another one and not completely pee down my leg. I can personally guarantee you at least thirty Standard players would come up from Erie, and probably a lot more.

2-3 drop. No longer comfortable about playing Zoo anymore in this metagame. Yeah. Time to drive back.

Looks like top 8 is 2 UW Countertop decks (with E tutor/thopter package? I'm assuming?), 1 Bant Countertop, 1 Merfolk, 1 MUD Forgemaster (!), 1 Black & Green & Taxes, and 2 other decks I don't know yet.

FieryBalrog

Looks like Welder-Forgemaster, not MUD. Holy shit lol, this is the funniest and coolest thing I've seen in forever. Merfolk just looks foolish without removal. Welder + Wurmcoil Engine is INSANE.

The full top 16 is listed here (http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/deckshow.php?&t[C1]=3&start_date=2011-02-06&end_date=2011-02-06&city=indianapolis), will be updated as they play the top 8.

The Forgemaster combo deck looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad there is something as left-field as that this time around, and the top 8 looks decent this time as well.

Wow.
That MUD thing is nuts!
Chalice and 3Sphere in the board!
Nice...

None of the commentators mentioned this, but the Junk & Taxes deck made a couple of small but significant misplays that ended up costing him game 2. He attacked with Goyf at 2/3 with Qasalis exalted trigger pumping it to 3/4, and then post-combat he pridemaged his opponent's Crucible. If he had done that DURING combat, before damage, Goyf would have been 5/6 for the turn and done extra two damage. Then the turn after that he cast swords post-combat again, which against cost him one damage for a total of 3 missed damage.

His opponent stabilized at 3 life. And even if his opponent didn't use the ancient tomb, he would have been at 5. If Junk & taxes had played correctly, that puts his opponent at 2, which means Goyf + Bob swinging into a sundering titan still wins the game.

Looks like mossivo made it 9th with UGw Tempo. Tough luck. Still a good result and looking for a report from him.

Zoo did make 10th. And I don't think Enchantress was getting there either. Tried to talk you into my Bant list :P

But such a wierd meta. Affinity everywhere and way more randomness than there was at KC. If it makes you feel any better, I ended up scrubbing too. Once again the wheels fell off one win short of the money and I ended up in 51st after a 5-1 start.

The top 16 looks very varied. Lot of things to look at.
Reanimator with Putrid Imp, 8 basics and no Ponder. Show and Tell, NOrder and Jace. Affinity had Signal Pest, Thopter Foundry and E. Plagues in sb. Zoo and 4 Green Zenith. Dredge with UB basics, Fetches, Brainstorm, Hapless Researcher and no Breakthrough.

His post can be found in the MUD Stompy thread (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?19382-MUD-Stompy&p=517247&viewfull=1#post517247), which is a bit hidden. His earlier list has some slight differences, but I hope he will post a report so we can hear more on it now.

I have to go back to the drawing board on what I want to play. The Zoo list is indeed interesting, more of the Big Zoo variety but I made cuts for 2 GSZ in the wrong slots apparently. Fairly frustrating event though. Lemme know what the next one you go to is. Memphis is looking really good right now.

I am not Mike Bomholt. I'm just a silly boy from Oregon that wants to play with Wurms and Dragons. SCG commentators aren't exactly known for their factual infallibility.
