A COUPLE important things to note about this tournament:

* It’s a $30 entry fee – $5 more than usual, I’ll explain why in a second
* It’s the week before Christmas, and a perfect way to avoid the holiday rush and get yourself a gift.
* The winner of the Thanksgiving Legacy Open & Feast (11.27.10) will also win FREE entry into this tournament.
* The TOP 4 players from this tournament will also win free entry into the January Legacy open
* The reason it’s $5 more than usual is this:

Maybe you’ve heard of it?

That’s right, an Unlimited Black Lotus will be the first place prize with 32 or more participants. Other prizes could include dual lands,Force of Wills, store credit and more!

If you ever were gonna make it to an event, this is the one to get to. Side events (such as legacy 8-man for a box OR legacy proxy tournaments, an EDH pod and booster drafts) will begin around 2pm (around about the start of the third round).

More details on this tournament will be available tomorrow.

===IT'S TOMORROW, HERE ARE THE ADDITIONAL DETAILS===

Guaranteed at 1 player
1st 4x Bayou or better dual land (will depend on turnout, but guaranteeing at least 4 bayous)
Guaranteed at 16 players
First and second will draft:
4x Bayou or Better
4x Force of Wills

Third and 4th will recieve $50 Store credit each.

Guaranteed at 24 players

1st and second will draft:
4x Force of Wills
4x Bayou
3rd & 4th will each get $60 in store credit
5th-8th will get $50.

Guaranteed at 32
1st - Black Lotus, NM, Unlimited
2nd - 4x Bayou
3rd - 8th will recieve store credit based on total turnout (at least $50 though)

If players wish to prize split, we will hammer out what that works out to in the semifinals. For the purposes of this event, the Lotus is priced at $750 (just to avoid the confusion of "well a lotus is worth $1200, so shouldn't we be getting $600 each if we split?"-type scenarios).

For now, we are guaranteeing the Lotus for 1st place with participation of 32 or more.

The location is Games & Stuff in Glen Burnie MD (http://gamesandstuffonline.com) (click for address and directions)

we look forward to seeing you there!

With so little information, and less than a week to go, I don't see many choosing to go to this.

Uhhh.......maybe prize support? Or the "more details available tomorrow"?

I mean, it's probably far too late now, but listing what prizes are being awarded for the $30 entry fee outside of an indeterminate Lotus, might actually entice people to shell out that amount.

Why do we lose the FoWs at 32 people?

They can be interchanged for the bayous if that's what people want. They'll come back if we have more than 32 (like 36 or so). but beyond 32, we will hammer out the deets on saturday, which in addition to being better and more predictable than me just arbitrarily assigning a number of a prize to a participants level, also gives the players some input.

We may have a few coming for this. I hope the turnout hits the 32 mark.

Based on strictly locaL feedback, it looks like it will. If we're one or so shy, in all likelihood we will still be giving the Lotus away. We have literally never disappointed people with prize support, and we consistently overdeliver with a well-run tournament and exciting prizes.

Is the entry fee still $30 if we don't have enough for the Lotus? (Heaven forbid!)

Dave, thanks for the details bro. I'll be there, and will be advertising this a bit locally over the next couple days.

For everyone who's never played at G&S (formally GCS) - Ed, the owner, is the man, especially with regards to prize support. He's pretty much always stocked with Legacy staples, and always gives away more (retail value) than he takes in entry fees. Be assured that you'll be getting value for your entry fee; I understand everyone is always worried about prize support...probably because we've all played in Dream Wizards events for years :(...but fear not :)

Also, if you're driving in be sure to park in the free garage (1/2 block past the store).

Thanks Jimmy.

Dyzzy,

It'll still be $30 - but we'll certainly be able to add to the prize support if the lotus for whatever reason isn't involved; genuinely I don't think this is a concern. I'm fairly certain the Lotus will be a prize. As Jimmy said, Ed is the MAN when it comes to making happy customers/clients.
