Ok, I know Emrakul can be hit by spells that resolve targets after they hit play such as Oblivion Ring and Shiekmaw for example.

What about spells that aren't cast, but rather put into play via effects such as Braids, conjurer Adept. Seems like they would hit him also. I'm only wondering due to Control Magic style cards.

A card is only a spell while it is on the stack. Anything you have enter the battlefield via Braids will totally bypass the stack. Any enchantments like Control Magic that you get to bypass the stack also will not target, nor try to be attached to Emrakul while on the stack (which would be very strange).

In short, if you Replenish with a Control Magic in the graveyard, and your opponent has Emrakul, then you can attach Control Magic to Emrakul.
If you use Braids to put in a Sower of Temptation, you can target Emrakul with the triggered ability.

A) Auras only target when they're being cast. They don't target when they're put directly into the battlefield, eg with Show & Tell or Replenish - you just choose something to attach it to.

B) Anything you put into the battlefield with blue Braids is never going to be a spell. You're putting it into the battlefield, not casting it.

Well it was a good idea... turns out my idea was a bust. Sadly.

Even if you Cast Sower you can use its triggered ability to target Emrakul.

Actually your idea is good. I was making sure I didn't accidentally lose to an Emrakul or some other untargetable (ex. Inkwell) being put into play from her. Doesn't matter anyway since he just got banned from EDH anyway.

It works like a charm. I had the table go around with Braids out and everyone is slapping these huge things in play and when my turn comes up I play a Kederekt Leviathan and bounce braids at the same time. lol

The stealing ability works obviously well too. Being limited to mono-U is my whine. I have a thing for gold cards.

Anyway, glad to hear it worked as I thought. I knew about Replenish since I played with that back when Confiscate was in standard and stole a few Morphlings here and there. Braids was just worded weird so I wondered. Didn't hurt to make sure.

Thanks.

To be clear, the reason Sim's idea was a bust was that Braids doesn't do enchantments - only creature, artifact, or land.
