Survival Players, what decks are you gonna switch to?

So, I've been playing GW Survival for a while now (with about 2 months inbetween where I played Planeswalker Rock). My next choice will be Big Zoo, but I consider building GW Maverick too. I have currently built UB Merfolk if my meta heavily changes towards blue decks. I also consider building Non-Surivival Ooze and Sneak Show.

I played Bant Survival, but I have Thopter Affinity, TES, FT, Dredge, Goblins, Bant Aggro and probably soon The Rock or some kind of CounterTop as substitutes.

I'm really gonna miss resolving turn 2 Survival and chaining Goyfs =/

I have been thinking about that a lot lately.

I know I won't play zoo or merfolk. Instead, possibly TEPS or DDFT (where I have my largest deficits as a player), developing a mud / U mud stomply list, among other things.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

I'm raping people on MWS with this version (the one I just recently posted) of the deck harder than I used to with the Survival version. The explosiveness is fucking crazy. Survival was slow, costing 1GGGGGGG in total. In here, I'm getting an assload of explosive turn 1 and turn 2 openers with single and double Vengevines.

I'm also having times where I open with a single Vengevine on turn 1-2, and rip an Intuition to lay down more Vengevines/Wonder midgame (turn 3-4) for the clincher.

I cut 1 Entomb for 1 Buried Alive, for a 3/1 split of Entomb/Buried Alive and it has been working beautifully. Wow dude, just wow. It's nutty.

I'm also playing GW Maverick, with Vengevines MD. There are so many one-drops in the deck that they're easy to recur, and there is enough land that it fits perfectly right at the top of the curve without any problems. I don't even have crap like Wild Mongrel to try and exploit it because the deck is beefy enough. It's just nice to have a hasty dude that can't be countered for the control matchups.

I'm also working on a super secret combo deck. With Vengevines.

I'm going to get that card banned.

You know I hate Vengevine for what it's done to Survival, it made the archetype into a 4-year old nibbling on lollipops. But I think I have a revelation, I dislike the DCI more than Vengevine, so I'm casting old hatreds, and ordering a playset of Vengevines, just so I will break them and prove that the problem was not Survival, but Vengevines.

I still don't think Vengevines can be dealt with effectively outside of dedicated hate, it is a very unique creature with a unique attack mode that is unconventional from what Legacy has seen. On paper, how tough can a 4/3 haster at 2GG be? The funny thing? Even when you hardcast that crap, it still presents a problem over turns.

I always play with borrowed decks, so by far I can finish playing any deck.

I'm working on New Age Lands (RG), but in the end I'm fine playing Blue Lands, still don't know yet.

And maybe Zoo, because Wizards likes creatures that only attack and block.

Lol Jak, Survival and Lackey are the only reasons I would tap creatures sideways. Then again, I tap my Welder more than I tap my Goyfs sideways..

Soldier tokens and Factories are the only things that I enjoy tapping sideways because they are not creature cards :P

I was never a survival player ($$$) but Vengevine madness is still extremely powerful. I've played quite a few games against Vengvival decks that never resolved survival but still managed to explode vengevines so it wouldn't surprise me at all if VV/Madness decks remained popular.

The DCI banned the wrong card, pure and simple. Survival existed since the beginning of the format and was never a problem. Vengevine is incredibly broken, and people will realize this until it gets banned in March.

For now, I'm going to be playing both U/G/b Vengevine and G/B/r Vengevine, while it lasts.

I used to be a rock survival player with vials and a tool box approach. And it brought me to the top, but I really had a hard time doing so. (no vengevines here). THen I played gwb vengevine survival and easily made top 3 in a 100+ player tournament, in which I thought was quite boring ( I guess this is because I came from a toolbox approach). Just when I was 2 cards off my welder survival list.. haha survival gets banned... blah...

I still think dci's reasons for banning was quite rushed. Although I am quite aware of survivals potential to be broken and powerful. I still think their decision was rushed... Ooze survival was easy to disrupt and I even have NO Idea what gave them the reason do ban survival because of ooze combo. So many angles to attack ooze survival, yet survival was banned because ooze survival was compared to vengevine survival. But it doesnt matter since its already banned.

As for what to play, I have already switched back to rock and took second with it a tourney before survivals banning. As for my other cards, I might look for a gwb aggro, using gw survivals creature base, and replacing some components like survival with dark confidant and other stuff with equipment/stoneforge.

But I think I would wait for the day where INtuition vengevine madness will run rampant in the metagame and make ppl cry out BAN INTUITION...or a gb version which is faster. As for now I have to find a way to deal with traditional zoo,and merfolks again...

because I hate combo like wizards does... so I am gonna play something that scoops to anything besides combo, and hope for burning wish being next to the axe... or even LED.

So what scoops to everything besides combo. I think I will play a deck that features t1 trinisphere and a shitload of counters as well as CB/Top maybe something like ....mono blue stompy control breed ^^ only out to creatures ? 3 jace 2 shackels ^^

Jacestill seems nice and all.. in my last tourney a player in the finals crushed ANT with Jacestill.. he tried to go off like 5 times and was met with counterspells everytime.. the only mistake he boarded out all the removal 2nd game and was raped by Xantid..

I'd be interested in seeing that. I updated Hollywood's 'The Game' listing to include Emrakul when he first came out. There's a thread on it somewhere. I upped the discard and cut back on the removal a little. Emrakul is like a Deed all by himself.
