This card has been used competitively and talked about years ago but has fallen off the radar on most lists. I just wanted to point out that with Vengevival out of the way and with Knight of the Reliquary decks (e.g. Rock, Dark Horizons, New Horizons, Bant, Zoo) being the new hot-3cmc Goyf, Submerge is so brutal if they ever think about using KotR's activation.
Do you guys think that this card will resurge back again in the boring meta of Fish/Zoo/Bant/Gobs/Countertop?

Honestly, I was unaware that it had fallen off the map. I think there is a lot of merit in running 3 copies in the sideboard with so much green in the metagame (or rather, Forests).
If it was underplayed, it definitely will resurge.

A great card in tempo decks, but if you are running white additional swords effects are preferred. I still love Submerge though

Personally, I love it. I rarely see it though, and I don't understand why it isn't played more. It's great even tough pulling off the old "Submerge in response to your fetch" is rather rare, the mini-time walk effect is also awesome.

I was unaware it fell of also, I play fish and it is a 4 of in my sb for a long time. I think it should be a 4 of in every Merfolk deck, not sure about other decks but it is really good in Merfolk. Def one of my top 5 favorite cards.
Side note, how is that meta boring? Boring compared to what?

The fetch-trick works, but imagine the tempo against KotR (which is seemingly in almost every list playing GWx, Bant, Rock, Zoo, Horizons etc). Use KotR, submerge. That's like saying your opponent tapped out 3 lands on turn 3, spent a turn on turn 4 not swinging and get his threat submerged with no pressure on the board. Sick!
My playgroup has a Merfolk player who plays 3-4 Submerges and it is quite brutal. The tempo gain for spending no mana and dodging Daze/Countertop is quite hideous. I just felt like posting this SCD since I don't see the card played often in lists, which surprises me because one day on the bus I'm just thinking KotR is quite powerful and being more popular, what stops it: Mind Harness, Threads of Disloyalty, ..., OMG Submerge lol.
@SlopeeJ, that meta is boring IMO, since it's like always those decks being played.

Don't confuse your meta with Legacy as a whole. It may have its pillars but there's no other format which such a wide variety of viable decks.

Don't forget the classic scenario when you submerge their guy and wasteland away their source to play it. To rub it in they wont be drawing that source next drawstep either.

I like bounce followed by Standstill, personally.

Submerge is quite good; however, playing 4 is manifestly excessive in any sideboard. 2 seems to be a good number but I could see running 3 but definitely not 4.

Why do you think so?

I never play less than 3.
You really want to see them on a regular basis against the decks where you board them in.
If i could, i would play 4, but often enough there isn't enough room.

if you're a real pimp, you run it with Predict.
