Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas + Mimic Vat

If you turn an artifact into an artifact creature with Tezzeret's ability and that creature dies while you have a Mimic Vat out, will you be able to imprint the dying artifact creature?

If so will Mimic Vat spit out og imprints or creature versions??

I feel like I already know the answer but I'd like to be sure.

Mimic Vat will trigger for the dead animated Artifact. You will be able to imprint it. Copies, however, will only remain as non-creature artifacts.

For some reason I have this sick ambition to use him to animate Tangle Wire and let it die, imprinting it on Mimic Vat, then vat out tangle wires at every turn on my opponent.

What timing would you employ to get around vats end step trigger and tanglewire's beginning of upkeep clause?

Activate Vat during your own End Phase. Then it'll be there for your opponent's upkeep, and get sacced in his End Phase.
