Devastating Dreams

Question:


If I cast Devastating Dreams for 5, and my Terravore is already a 5/5, do the lands (say, 5 total) go to the graveyard first and pump my Terravore so it doesn't die, or does my Terravore die before it gets the +1/+1's from each land?

It will survive. The effects happen in the order printed on the card. More to the point though, creatures only die from lethal damage after effects are done resolving. You have to do the entire effect and then check whether or not anything is dead.
