So I built this deck last week and had an opportunity to test it out over the past few days. I have to say it performed much more consistantly than I expected. I had several turn 2 wins, and many 3 and 4. I played against several established Legacy decks such as NO Pro Counter Top and Goblins. Here's my list, and following are some changes I'm going to try making.

4x Invigorate
4x Berserk
2x Rancor

4x Phyrexian Vatmother
4x Phyrexian Crusader
4x Plague Stinger

4x Elvish Spirit Guide
4x Dark Ritual

4x Snuff Out
4x Vines of Vastwood
2x Sylvan Library

4x Verdant Catacombs
4x Windswept Heath
4x Bayou
4x Inkmoth Nexus
2x Swamp
2x Forest

I'm considering dropping 4x Dark Rituals for 4x Lotus Petals, and 4x Vatmothers for 3x Ichorclaw Myr and 1x Rancor or a third Sylvan Library. I think this will strengthen the consistancy of the deck, and drop the mana curve slightly.

Inkmoth Nexus has proven to be a powerhouse in this deck. If you have one in your starting hand as well as a Lotus Petal or ESG, Invigorate and Berserk you pretty much win (this is a surprisingly common occurance). Unless you get countered, it's rare for your opponent to be able to block a trampling 10/10 infect flyer on turn 2.

Looking for comments and criticism. Thanks!

You probably want to be playing vector asp to increase your chances of attacking on turn 2.

vatmother is probably too expensive, 4 is a lot, with what you have set up, the dream is i guess turn 2?, maybe turn 1 with a guide and a dark ritual?

For a pure speed version of the deck I do agree that Vatmother is probably too expensive. She's fantastic in my casual version of mono-b, but that's playing casually when you're not investing 2-3 cards to get it pathed/swordsed. I'm no sure Vector asp is the answer, but Vatmothermight be a bit too pricey. I do like the body though.

Perhaps Ichor Rats cause it's 1 less poison you have to do. or the Septic one that gets +1 when it swings if the opponent has a poison counter? Ichorclaw is good as well... just thoughts.

If you're playing Infect with rituals, you probably want to try Hatred.

Welcome to a format full of Force of Will and Lighting Bolt.

I would only consider running Hatred if it gave +x/+x instead of +x/+0. Even then, I don't think I'd run that. Green buffs are much more efficient. As I mentioned too, I'm cutting Dark Ritual for Lotus Petals.

I definately overlooked Vector Asp. I always thought the activation cost made it garbage, but with free Invigorates it proves to not be that bad. I might try him as a 3 of. I still view Ichorclaw as a better creature, and just as likely to attack turn 2. It's especially nice how you don't have to pay for him to have infect, and since he turns into a Putrefax when it's blocked with Rancor.

Also, what are your thought on Mirri's Guile over Sylvan Library? I'm thinking it's worse than library since you don't have the option to pay life and keep a card. It's nice as a 1 drop, but I'd consider it inferior.

Virulent Sliver looks like the perfect fit over Asp IMO

Also, embarrassingly, if you wanted another evasion poison guy... swamp mosquito's is another 2 drop.

-edit... although, I suppose "poisonous" actually doesn't work so well with pump spells... sad panda.

I'm testing a very similar deck at the moment. Mine runs more like black control. I have Bayous, fetches, Hymn to Tourach, GFTT and I also run Sword of Light and Shadow. The pro-white is nice on vat momma and can reclaim lost crusaders and other little buggers. Also added +2/+2 turns into an effective +4/+4 on infect creatures... I also run Unholy Strength over Rancor for the added toughness on Crusader, I don't know if that's ideal though.

Just some thoughts. Seems to have a lot of potential.

Thoughts on Phyrexian Crusader? Pro swords is fun. Also, top decks have issues getting 3 drop to counter it. Also, first strike with a boost helps take out powerful goyf's

Updated list:

4x Invigorate
4x Berserk
4x Rancor

4x Ichorclaw Myr
4x Phyrexian Crusader
4x Plague Stinger

4x Elvish Spirit Guide
4x Lotus Petal

4x Snuff Out
4x Vines of Vastwood

4x Verdant Catacombs
4x Windswept Heath
4x Bayou
4x Inkmoth Nexus
2x Swamp
1x Forest
1x Pendelhaven

This deck is fast. Very fast. I thought I needed card advantage like Sylvan Library, but I found that it just sits in my hand while I beat face and win turn 3. No fancy tricks here. Play creature, attack and buff. GG

SB construction time: Suggestions? I believe the main issues will be controls decks with counters. What do I use? City of Solitude? Way too slow. Guttural Responce maybe? Hmmm....

Nice. I never knew that even existed. I like it. Thank you.

do you have an answer to burn? everything but the crusader can be killed with a lightning bolt.
I have found burn can mess up infect creatures, so you may want to plan for that, unless your plan for burn is th crusader, becasue of pro red and white.

Well besides the Crusader I have 4x Vines of Vastwood, but other than that, I don't really have anything to protect me from burn. What cards might you suggest that wouldn't require a splash? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Don't forget you also run invigorate. It's a house vs lightning bolt. You should see opponents drop a bolt into my guy to get it invigorated. Sometimes bait with invigorate, then drop a second one on the "bolt in response" lol.
