As almost every week I played a small local tournament last Wednesday. Until Survival was banned I was playing allmost exclusively GW Survival (even before VV was printed), and since the banning I was switching between Big Zoo and Lands.dec.

SB: 1 [WL] Null Rod
SB: 1 [IA] Pyroblast
SB: 1 [R] Red Elemental Blast
Round 1 vs Hardy with Punishing Thresh (similar to Chinese Girls Next Level Thresh, but with Punishing Fire engine).
G1: I open with Forest Hierarch, my turn 2 fetchland gets stifled and I keep beating him with my Hierarch for some time, as I fail to resolve something relevant and he is unable to draw into threats. When he hasn't the stifle for my next fetchland I'm able to cast Thrun, afterwards sword his lone goyf and ride Thrun to victory while he floods away.
G2: This time I open with basic forest and Nacatl, my T2 Plateau soon eats a Wasteland and I just beat him with a lone 1/1 all the time. On his side a Goyf comes down, which beats me twice before eating a sword. He resolves a Jace which keeps bouncing my own goyf, but I'm able to handle his goyfs with tripple swords, his Clique gets countered with REB and his first and second Jace both get bolted/fired. Just as I'm about to stabilize he manages to burn my down with double P. Fire active and bolt.
G3: We go to time and draw.
Round 2 vs Nima with Burn (weird, suboptimal list)
G1:
He gets stuck on one land for a few turns, while I beat him with a Nacatl. By the time he draws into lands a Goyf and an Elspeth joined the team. I beat him a little, he burns me a little, when he tries to clear the field with Volcanic Fallout + Multiple Burnspells I sword my own goyf in response to his burnspell to recover a healthy lifetotal. A soldier token + Bolt get there.
G2:
This game he stalls on 2 lands. After getting burned a little I resolve Ajani V., which keeps one of his lands tapped down. 2 turns later Knight + Pridemage + Ajani Helix + Bolt finish him.
Round 3 vs Emil with G Elves (a mashup of differing subtypes, as I saw Natural Order, Glimpse and Genesis Wave).
G1:
I remove his early guys with Swords/P. Fire, but I only stick a Knight as a relevant threat. He casts glimpse and more mana dudes and shortly afterwards Terastodon, nuking 3 of my lands, which was a mistake on his side. As I attacked with my now huge Knight he doubleblocks with Terastodon and Sentinel, leaving me with 3 elephant tokens as the relevant creatures and the battlefield, which kill him a few turns later.
G2:
He opens with T1 Heritage Druid, which for some reason I don't bolt. He rapidly expands his army and casts Genesis Wave for 6. Soon afterwards he casts a Terastodon, this time nuking his own lands. The battlefield gets filled up with critters on both sides, I was sitting back and waiting either for Elspeth or a Punishing Fire, unable to punch through his horde. I resolve a Sylvan Library, which does not get me any of those cards for a few turns. Things start to look grim as he resolves Natural Order with me at 8 life. In my upkeep, Library again shows me nothing. I equip a Nacatl with a Jitte and swing with the Nacatl and 2 Knights into his army, hoping that he punts. Indeed he does, as he doesn't block the Nacatl with Progenitus, but rather the Knight to kill it. I play a third Knight and pass. The 2 Jitte counters allow me to survive his following hydra attack at 2 life. In my upkeep I desperately play E. Tutor as a shuffle effect for Library, look at the top 3 cards......and the third card is Elspeth, which allows me to kill with a flying KotR with tripple exalted.
Round 4 vs Valentin with 4 Colour Countertop
He offers me the draw as he just played 2 countertop mirrors in a row and was a little exhausted. I refuse and we head of to
G1: He swords my early Goyf while a plays out a first War Monk and a little later a second War Monk. I resolve Elspeth, and the next turn, more importantly, GSZ for X=4. Thrun joins the party. The next turn he casts Firespout to get rid of my Elspeth token and swings in with both RWM to kill Elspeth. Sadly, I have no mana left to regenerate Thrun, so I have to let Elspeth die. A goyf joins his team, but I get Fire/Grove online. He is unable to get past Thrun, while the fires start to slowly burn his team as well as a Jace.He resolves a counterbalance, but is unable to find a cc2 card. He asks me again about a draw, as I refuse he concedes the match to me.
Result: 2nd place with 3-0-1. I will post my thoughts about the deck in the Big Zoo thread.
