Say I have kiki-jiki, mirror breaker and lightning crafter championing Goblin Matron. Could I use Kiki-jiki to create a copy of lightning crafter - remove crafter and bring back matron ?

I don't think so, but apparently some friends of mine think that because it's a token, the token can't champion. I said it doesn't matter if it's a token or not, because it's an exact copy of lightning crafter (and there's nothing written on the card that says I can't nor some rule that I can think of that says I can't), but apparently that's not good enough for them.

They want an outside source.

The game treats any object entering the battlefield the same if it's a token or not. The champion ability only cares that a creature is removed.

If a token is championed away, it will not come back. (It ceases to exist in the exile zone.)
