Hey all, we've been running Monday Night Legacy forever and I saw that there hadn't been a post about it in a while soooo ta dah!
Where: In the cafeteria/lounge area of College of Dupage- 425 Fawell Boulevard Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599. About half hour west of Chicago in the 'burbs.
When: Every Monday night at 6:30 (regs starts around 6)
Entry: $6
Prize: current set boosters, based on attendance, sexy favors from Deven Ducommun or Sam Kuprevuwevuwich, ham sandwich. (really only the packs though)
We usually get a dealer or two out there as well (either John Donovan or Adem Hotza) so if you're looking to pick up cards its a good place to check out, and players usually bring a decent stock as well if you're looking to borrow random stuff.
P.s~ Edh/ Commander games are also almost constantly running so definitely come out for that too.

Sexy favors are going to scare more people away than they attract. People should come out we normally get 8-12 players. We used to get more and hopefully will be getting back into the 20's again.

Had a decent tournament last night, metagame looked like:
Show and Tell/Natural Order
Forgemaster Combo
Zoo w/Green Sun's Zenith
Bgw Junk
Green and Taxes
Dreadstill
Belcher
Team America
+++etc.
I played the Forgemaster deck which was a ton of fun but has miserable matchups against Team America (Snuff Out your Metalworker, Hymn/Thoughtseize, Stifle Forgemaster ability ;_;, and Junk (Thoughseize/Hymn, Waste/Vindicate your lands, Pernicious Deed + RANDOM NULL ROD BLARGLARG. Played some Commander afterwards and had to police the board with aura shards to prevent shenanigans but ultimately succumbed to an Open the Vaults, apparently need more counterspells in Rith's colors :D.

Haven't been there for a while. The distance is the only thing preventing me. Not very fun driving such a long distance and back by myself. I used to go there regularly also.

How many rounds do these usually go? How late do they normally end? I assume they are sanctioned?

Lately we've been doing 4 rounds, occasionally 3 because of lack of players due to bad weather lately. Ends around 10-10:30, and yes its sanctioned.

Well if it makes you feel any better that was my only win on Monday.

Had another solid tournament last night, and I redeemed myself after last week by smashing with Natural Order/Show and Tell, which I've affectionately dubbed Simic Surprise due to its non-bant-ish lack of white :D. Jaco showed up as well and showed off some of his face-melting alterations that he owns, including a set of wastelands that were made to be seasonal AND to have the guru land motif!!
Metagame looked like:
2x Goblins
Solidarity
Reanimator
Simic Surprise
Faerie Tempo uwb
Blue Stax
ugr Countertop Natural Order Show and Tell Jaco Special
etc.

Hey again all, had another tournament on Monday, good times in general. Had a couple new players and a bunch of people from Dekalb come out so had some fresh decks/players. Highlights for me were having my Emrakul stolen by a Nicol Bolas that my opponent cast off of a Fist of the Suns (if ever there was one play that is cause for an auto-scoop that would be it :D), just barely beating out an onslaught of double Wurmcoil Engine then the tokens they generated after being sac'd to Emrakul, and doing the turn 1 fetch turn 2 Ancient Tomb, Show and Tell Emrakul and having my opponent show me the Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize that he was waiting on to cast turn 1 Aether Vial @_@.
Metagame looked like:
1 Simic Natural Show
1 Stoneforge Bant Natural Order
1 Vial Junk with Stoneforge and Tidehollow Sculler
1 Big Zoo
1 Fist of the Suns.dec
1 White Stax
1 Belcher
1 Goblins (? not sure what Wayne was playing)
1 Countertop
1 Forgemaster
etc.
