Hello there, out of boredom of playing allways storm combo decks and Doomsday Emrakul deck i made a deck that it's similar to some ones posted first but this is a funny and different way to look vegevine decks.
Ok let's check the decklist:
// Deck file for Magic Workstation
// Lands
3 Bayou
2 Gaea's Cradle
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Forest
2 Tropical Island
1 Swamp
1 Dryad Arbor
1 Wasteland
// Creatures
4 Quirion Ranger
4 Fauna Shaman
4 Wild Mongrel
1 Shield Sphere
//Nice to Discard
2 Big Game Hunter
4 Bloodghast
4 Vengevine
4 Basking Rootwalla
2 Life from the Loam
// Spells
4 Intuition
4 Careful Study
4 Chain of Smog
// Sideboard
SB: 3 Maelstrom Pulse
SB: 3 Extirpate
SB: 2 Engineered Plague
SB: 3 Choke
SB: 4 Mindbreak Trap
Ok, first of all i'll advise that i'm not good at making SB so additionaly i'll very apreciate your adds to SB.
Ok let's comment the cards:
Fauna shaman : As Survival get banned, its the only tutor creature we have , anyway she makes her job very well.
Quirion ranger: Make us to play fauna shaman 2 times x turn getting faster to put our creatures in grave.
Wild Mongrel: Nice creature to block getting bigger to Goblins attackers and makes easyer to us to discard if we have a lot of discartable cards in hand.
Shield Sphere: Allows faster vegevine revival and steps over Ethersworn Canonist and Loadstone golem. Additionaly it's a solid blocker.
Vegevine: So obvios, send Vv to grave to revival them by casting 2 creatures.
Bloodghast: The other recursive creature, it's not synergic with vengevine but anyway it's a very agro creature that make the control deck suffer a lot beacose its more easy to revival than vengevine and in the final steps of game it's a lot better when it gets haste.
Basking: Advantage by playing with madness.
Big Game Hunter: THe only bad thing this creature have, is that if we play it the second creature as vegevine triggers and our opponent hasn't a creature with P>=4 we have to kill of our vines, anyway this creature is incredibly powerful and owns Most terrifying creatures as Emrakul, Relicari, Goyfs, tombstalkers, dreadnought,Iona, and some more...
Life from the loam: This is a new add i make a few hours ago since I have seen that Gaeas craddle is sometimes very needed, especiale vs MUD, Stax and decks that mana screw you, is synergical with Vengevine, VERY synergical with Bloodghast but not synergical with rootwanas but my balance from the last hours testing is very positive. This justifies the presece of a single Wasteland that we can intuition for.
Intuition: Best tutor we have, very very powerful as we can make some interesting tricks, its very powerful with loam, vines and Bloodghast.
Careful study: Cantrip that we can take a lot of advantage with discartable cards.
Chain of smog: It's a funny card and takes the opponent to a difficult siuation as sometimes we don't have the mongrel and fauna shaman on play to make's us discard or not...
Sb:
Extirpate: Vs Ichroid and combo.
Mindbrake trap: Vs Storm combo.
Choke: Blue decks(Tempo, CB decks, landstill, and infinite etc)
Maelstrom: vs Empty the warrens, CB, Humility, moat, Loadstone golem...
Enginereed Plague: vs tribal
Ok so that's all i thinks its too early to post percentiles of average winning pairings, so i only wish we enjoy this deck and if its posible to make it as competitive as we can improving the decklist.
Regards.
Alex
