4/17/2011 Los Angeles, CA Knight Ware $20 GPT Providence Duals and Jaces and Byes

Knight Ware Inc in Studio City, CA is holding a Sanctioned Legacy tournament on Sunday April 17, 2011

This will be one of our Fixed Prize Legacy events.
This is also trial for Grand Prix Providence

The main differences between this event and our regular large legacy event are
1) Event is 24K, and REL is competative as required by DCI regulations
2) Earlier start time (1 PM)
3) In addition to the prize pool below, a number of 3 round byes for GP Providence will also be given out
At 8-32 players, First Place gets a 3 round bye
At 33-64 players, First and Second Place each get a 3 round bye
At 65-71 byes will be to the top 4

Phil Thorson (L2) has agreed to head judge
If anyone else wants to help floor judge, please contact me

**note Tournament will start at 1 PM** (Not the usual 2 pm)!!
Entry Fee $20 if paid before 12:30 pm (we open at 11 am)
after 12:30 PM $25

Decklists Required (http://www.knight-ware.com/DecklistConstructed.new.pdf)
8-24 players, we may do a swiss + 1 with no cut
25-32 players, 5 rounds cut T8
33-64 players 6 rounds cut T8
65-71 players 7 rounds cut T8
first place, first pick, second place, second pick and so on
DCI reporter standings just prior to the cut will be used to determine 3rd/4th and 5th-8th

Parking
Parking is the main reason most of our larger events are on Sundays
Behind the store there are numbered spaces.
Knight Ware has spaces 9, 10, and 11
but
on Sundays, our neighbors are usually closed

The streets are metered but not checked on sundays
The first street to the west of us is Lankersheim Blvd..
On Lankersheim to the south there is unregulated street parking
Just west of Lankersheim (north side of the street) is an open lot that says
additional MTA parking. It does not get used much on the weekends
unless the hollywood bowl is running something and then there will be signs

I was a little annoyed to not be able to hustle my way into coachella tickets for anything remotely reasonable... even losing 500 thats absurd.

And since I will not be going, I will come tear up some legacy again. This is probably the next event I will be able to play even with everything else going on beforehand.

The first wall is finished.(the 2nd will have to wait a few months)
I hope to have most of the junk put away before the tournament.

Seating capacity is now at 70
(71 and the bye can stand)

Finished 11th with Belcher... 4-2 on the day, 3-1 against Force of Will decks... Weston killed me turn one 2 games in a row with storm. Congrats everyone that made top 8.

I love playing non-interactive decks!

Combo Elves reppin it up, combing off in your face (heyo Emrakul!)

Pretty fun run playing my old favorite deck again, except for not being able to interact with Weston's turn 1 kills (X_X)

Good job to Weston, and Pierre (whom played his first Legacy tourney, whom I lent fetchlands :D), and everyone else who played.

BONUS: mini-report
Game vs Infect Stompy - Therapy turn 1 naming Plague Stinger (connects), revealing ichroclaw Myr, Might of Old Krosa. On his turn 3, he pumps Ichorclaw, attacks, then cast Invigorate, putting me at 9 poison! I untap on my turn 3 and cast Emrakul. *whew* close one!

Competitive vs regular rules enforcement level. Anyone feel that there was a noticeable impact?

I did not notice any difference, then again, I play perfectly. hah

Still zero for infinite on deck reg errors, so it works for me. (and I wrote out my list from memory!!)

I think the Competitive is cool although i defenlty have a few game losses wit deck reg errors who remembers "basic lands" lol

They should get your name / DCI # from the event upload.
It is listed as received and should be processed tuesday or wednesday.
