I was thinking blue because i like blue, and maybe another color, like green for some more mana, but right now i was thinking mono blue. I am not sure, i have a few cards in mind but would love help developing this.

4 painter's servant
4 grindstone

4 ponder
4 preordain
4 brainstorm

4 high tide
4 snap
4 counter spell

4 halimar depths
13 islands

This is all i could think of right now, should i add more card draw, or search so i can find the combo? I don't want to net deck a list because that is no fun, so i will ask for a little help.
More mana acceleration, card draw, bounce or counter spells, or should i start over?

My husband has an awesome Humility/Grindstone/Painter's Servant deck that annoys the heck out of everyone-

White for:

Enlightened Tutor
Wrath of God
Day of Judgement
Humility
Gideon

also- white gives you access to Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile- some great on the spot removal (and you can run leyline of sanctity)

Blue for Venser and you can run Sensei's Divining Top and Counterbalance

If you want his decklist just ask- he is on here too

Toss in Blue Elemental Blast/Hydroblast (goes with Painter naming red) and Trinketmage (fetches Grindstone) or Fabricate (fetches both combo parts).

Like a Quinn deck right?

Although I think the main build for PainterStone combo would be Imperial Painter. I myself have wanted to build a similar deck but Imperial Recruiter is way above my budget.

Greenpoe is going on the right direction with playing R/U. That or play a Dragon Stompy/Imperial Painter hybrid.

Oh trinket mage, why did i forget about you?

White doesn't sound too bad, I kind of like it. What else could i do?

Dragon Stompy hybrid? Looks like its time for me to do some more looking around because i have no clue what dragon stompy is.......back to the search bar!

could the stone combo go into a deck like TES or an ANT like shell of a deck? Would Ad Neuasium and infernal tutor work to assemble all the pieces while using the cheap fast mana to get it off fast, use duress to help cover your combo turn, and/ or silence/orim's chant?

I'd also say the blue elemental blasts and hydroblast's if you plan on going with blue.

Another card I'd suggest is Muddle the Mixture, it can find you're painter. Then together with Trinket Mage you'll be able to tutor for both you're combo pieces.

Another good reason to play Trinket Mage is for the ability to find Tormod's Crypt which you'll need whenever you try to mill someone running big Eldrazi's.

Well , I think this might be a little far to go with the deck, its a brew I came up with for a side event at the last SCG open...

3 x Painter's Servant
3 x Grindstone
4 x Metalworker
4 x Kuldotha Forgemaster
4 x Trinisphere
3 x Crucible of Worlds
3 x Lightning Greaves
4 x Goblin Welder
2 x Wurmcoil Engine
1 x Platinum Emperion
1 x Blightsteel Colossus
4 x Grim Monolith
3 x Mox Opal
2 x Mox Diamond
4 x Great Furnace
1 x Mountain
4 x Ancient Tomb
4 x City of Traitors
3 x Wasteland
3 x Crystal Vein

The deck ran admirably , But I think its only well positioned in a goblins/combo heavy metagame...
