My first published article, about everything you ever wanted to know about Lands (hopefully).

What a nice piece of work. I'll definitely make time to read this.

Thanks for putting it together.

Ironic how you talk about not playing Gamble, but on here you said you were actually looking to play Gamble again. Otherwise thats a great article and hopefully more people will actually consider the deck

It's partly a function of the timing of the article, and mostly conjecture vs. testing; Gamble is something I'm going to look into eventually, but I'm not going to recommend it until I'm sure i like it.

That is what I assumed.
Also obviously like any deck there are card choices some players like over others. I am honestly a big fan of intuition in the deck even if it takes longer to set up. The reason being is that E Tutor is great for a deck like yours which is quasi-stax as well so it can fetch all those one ofs you play. But Intuition allows another way to get a Loam plus two relevant lands to set up the engine. It essentially is upping my loam count to 8 (4 loam, 3 intuiton, 1 entomb)
I am eventually moving towards 2 E Tutor and 3 Intuition to see if I like it.

Gamble seems much better than Enlightened Tutor. 100% to get Loam, Worm Harvest or any Land (or any artifact with Ruins online), usually 80+% to sucessfully get an Enchantment or Artifact (without Ruins), doesn't cost you your next draw step, which you probably would rather dredge to Loam anyway.

Gamble actually isn't as good as it seems. The drawback of Gamble is too huge. You shouldn't ever need to gamble for a land with 3 Tolaria Wests in the deck and Entomb. Also when you use Enlightened Tutor you probably want to get something that is relevant right away even if you miss your draw step. I'm pretty sure setting up Smokestack is more important than dredging. Honestly my lands list is a lot different from the one posted in the article, but still with all the lands players I talk to, gamble is the weakest tutor for the deck.

It's also not an instant, which is huge. Opening up on T1 fetchland, go lets you E-Tutor for anything, even in response to discard.

You mentioned videos in the SCGs thread. Have any forthcoming? I wouldn't mind seeing the list play a few times.

I do still like Intuition for one thing. Being able to go get Academy ruins and some artifact you need is pretty handy, especially when it's EE against a control deck or Merfolk. Though Enlightened opens up other colors you normally wouldn't play. I for one, will consider that whole Dark Confidant, Volrath's Stronghold, and things again. I didn't like it originally since it clashed with the blue too much.
