The problem is, the store owner doesn't play, also, I'm not even sure he is a level 1 judge...

We have to have a judge for our GPT'S at all time. The store owner will run the store CASH Legacy's until the right Judge is found.. hope its soon!

just a warning for other players i been to many of this store tournaments and they are the worst even worse than that garage parking tournament. ask anyone their reputation is bad. as for the judge they dont have real one they have store owner or store worker. last time joe was playing against kevin and joe was playing lands and say he scoops and flipped his deck over then he saw he had outs so judge say its ok he can resume play. they are
both my friend but that was wrong and i had to argue until judge agree scoop is scoop.

goes to show how little the shop cares about legacy. successful shop like knightware make meaningful prize pool for legacy cards we could use, they go out of their way to look for. its easy to just toss cash
and say buy your own legacy cards no effort. im only giving constructive critism i want to see
more good legacy tournament around. also on the same day is another legacy tournament at another shop
called odyssey for mox sapphire and other goodies. giving you heads up as it may cut from your attendence.

i never see poll on here. you should polled the actual legacy players here. legacy players more passionate about format since it doesnt rotate and key staples become important. if you polled typical standard/limited players that show up at store of course all they want cash or handful legacy that may still show at store. i know even your store most dedicated legacy players that go -every week- never go anymore (pat, joe, james, alex, caleb, koga, will, tony) and those were dedicated players i know alex and koga drove 40 miles. it got so bad pat joe james prefer to play at some guy house every week.

look at all and i mean all successful tournaments that get huge numbers its stores that care about legacy community and it show by them researching what legacy staples hot and players want for prize. not one them is cash payout, jupiter games, knightware, bazaar of moxen, etc etc etc are all successful with meaningful prize structure.

too bad you didnt poll us you would get the real answer. i want to see success legacy tournaments but you cant keep the same
attitude you had the past years you need to listen to the legacy community. take my critism or leave it but its all valid still if you choose to ignore it.

Thanks for the advice. Your right we did not poll on this site but we have over 2000 players on our store e-mail list which many play Legacy gave a chear!!!(SOME) of those guys you listed have not been here because we didnt hold Legacy events until now. To tell you the truth I looked over most of your other post on other stores it seen like you have lots to complaint about. At ALL STAR our number one must is to have nice friendly players at all times. If you are having a hard time with 100% PAYOUT which will be every month( soon two times a month) please post on others pages no need to go on. We would love to have you but to go on and on why?

Legacy player now are not limited to a Mox or dual lands they only end up listing on e-bay. With the CASH they can go out and buy the real cards they need. This Legacy event will improve over time with a Judge and great nice people to play with at all time. ALL STAR has welcomed magic players to our store before DCI events started. ALL STAR lets player play for free at all times, if not in the event and always will if they are an asset to the other players-fun to play with.

Do you just talk to talk? We had LEGACY Events in the passed (they were not good) the prizes were lame. We have not had Legacy in the past year and 1/2. Now we have change the prizes and many other things to have an on going Legacy every month that gives 100% PAY OUT TO THE PLAYERS! This event will grow and grow to make it the BEST prizes of any Legacy in LA-This is a promise. SOON TWO TIMES A MONTH STAY TUNED.

Can you please provide examples of this? I know that saspook is always honest, and never blatantly rude when there wasn't something shady going down. I'm just saying, if you get called out on lying, don't try and defend yourself by attacking the user, it's bad form.

I disagree with this. It's less effort for the store, but it's not like card prize tournaments don't have more profit in them. Some of those cards were gotten through the "dealer rule." People trade in cards below market value(Ebay) for store credit or cash. The cards make for better marketing(BLACK LOTUS TOURNAMENT XX/XX/XX compared to TCG 1K XX/XX/XX), but the cash is just fine for prize support. Whatever you would want to do with those cards, play with them or sell them, you can do with cash, except all the other things you can do with it. (For those who would sell those cards, it actually saves time.) Except with Magic players, our paper doesn't work as currency.

I actually just read it as "They haven't been coming because there haven't been Legacy tournaments recently."


Going off the 3/26 prize support, it's a little in favor of peoples' prizes. Though, there's still room for profit once you go above certain attendance numbers. (500 entry/650 payout @20 - 750 entry/800 payout @30 - 1000 entry/950 payout @40)

I know a lot of people have negative feelings towards this store, I like the owner and workers but will admit the prior tournaments were not the best ran. I support any store trying to host legacy tournaments but for any store out there please show interest in growing the legacy community and not just focusing on the prizes. I unfortunately won't be going to this one because of another tournament on the same day but wish the store best of luck.

I'm personally not his biggest fan, but for a store to actively go out there and insult a player is obscene. However, if you can prove that the tournaments will not involving fucking people out of prize, I might show up.

Y'all need to chill out and see how this event goes before you pass judgment. Things have changed a lot since we ran Legacy events way back. If problems arise, we will fix them. All we need is constructive comments the day of the event.
