I can't stop adding events that lead into GP:Providence... it's an addiction

5-26 $10 Legacy for 4 Blue Duals at Die Hard Games

Location: Die Hard Games
1005 Main St. #2230
Pawtucket, RI 02860
(401)312-3407
DHGRI.com, Facebook: Die Hard Games

Entry: $10, Format: Legacy
Reg: 3:00-6:20. Round 1 will go up at 6:30pm. Will not be able to enter people late, so please show on time.

Prize:

1st: 4 Blue Duals!

Kird Ape: Can you be more specific?

at 0-16 players: 1st= 4 Volcanic Island
at 17-32 players: 1st= 4 Tundra
at 33-39 players: 1st= 4 Tropical Island

and...

at 40 or more players: 1st= 4 Underground Sea!

Additional prizes will be given out depending on attendance. The 4 Blue duals will be given out regardless of attendance  If 0 players show, I will enter my own event and win my duals. This is the only circumstance where I would play in my own event

My store is 10 minutes from the site of GP: Providence and if you're in town a little early this is the perfect event for you to play. The focus is on fun and I've decided I will be ordering pizzas all night for everyone. In the interest of time this event will have 45 minute rounds instead of the usual 50 and swiss will not be more than 5 rounds, regardless of attendance. I will cut to top 8 at 16 or more players.

It's probably obvious, but this event isn't structured for me to make money.
Kird Ape: Nice business plan.

I wanted to make this more of a giant get-together for players in town for GP:Providence. It's replacing my Thursday weekly legacy that I normally run. If you're local I'm also offering lots of other events to prepare for GP:providence including...

GP:Providence Trial on May 1st http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?20155-Sun-5-1-Pawtucket-RI-Grand-Prix-Providence-Trial-at-Die-Hard-Games!-D

1K Legacy TCQ on May 21st http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?20268-5-21-ri-1k-legacy-tcq-at-die-hard-games-d

and my weekly $5 thursday legacy http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?19320-RI-DHG-Thursday-Night-Legacy-Returns!-5-Duals-Weekly!-Jan-SEAS

No shortage of events here

We'll have a big get-together and you get free pizza. Most importantly people can get some good testing in and everyone can meet each other. We're closed during the GP (May 27th-May29th) but we plan on being up all night the Thursday beforehand ;-)

So hopefully if you're in town early for the GP you'll swing by the Thursday of that week and maybe even win 4 blue duals =)

What is the best way to get there from the venue?

The highway ramp for 95 North is directly to the right of the convention center. Take that ramp and we're exit 26. You'll be at exit 22 prior to taking the ramp. Literally 4 exits up from where you are and it's about 8 minutes away. Once off exit 26 simply go to the light and take a right. We're the big giant mill complex that says 'Hope Artiste Village.' Park in the middle courtyard (next to the Met), back left door is us (unit #2230).

Thanks and hopefully see you then,
Dave

What is the best way to get there from the venue if you don't have a car?

There are Providence City buses (RIPTA) that go from Downtown into Pawtucket.

http://www.ripta.com/trips/trips.php

is their trip planner site that will tell you what buses to take.

I assume there will be people at the tournament going back downtown or elsewhere as everyone will want to be testing for the weekend.

Just one week away!

We will be closed May27th-29th as we'll be at the GP, but that means we will be up all night on thursday the night before for this

Between this and our 1k this Saturday, we hope to see alot of new faces.

I know alot of people have been discussing being with us for this special Thursday get together and we're looking forward to it. We'll have our Gauntlet Machine on all night, as well as both X-boxes on our big screen HDTV's. Free Videogames for all!

Thanks again for the support. This event is for you!

May was our best month ever for Legacy as we had a 90 person trial and a 50 player 1k event that just occured on Sat and results/pics/decklists can be seen here: http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?20268-5-21-ri-1k-legacy-tcq-at-die-hard-games-d

One just announced special on the Die Hard Games Facebook is buy 2 boxes of new phyrexia, get the third half off! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Die-Hard-Games/106162818130#!/pages/Die-Hard-Games/106162818130

Trenton Burninger :p vs Charles Reinman /w Zoo
Charles won

James Onions /w 43 land vs. Jacob Faturechi /w Merfolk

I'm exhausted and still need to pick a deck to play for the gp, so I'm going to do that now :D

But I had alot of fun and I hope everyone who attended did as well. See everyone at the GP!

Darn you CDR for beating me in the top 8!

Ah well, can't help my deck's draws. Except I tried, and it involved double burning your goyf and then not ripping lands.

Nice Jitte main... Well played good sir. See you on Saturday! :)

=====================

Edit: Dave, I had a lot of fun. Like a ton. As usual, I enjoy your tourneys. :D Next time I'll get an escort from a cop. :P

If by "double burning" you mean saccing all of your lands to Fireblast + Lightning bolt. When you knew I had another Goyf in hand. Not that you had a choice.

I enjoyed crushing you guys with my silly deck. Combined record of judges: 12-5.
