Fixed. Scalding Tarns are better off as Deltas. Gamplan is simple, open with a Leyline or powder a hand into one. Drop Welder and then Helm. Helm gets countered/destroyed, just weld it back. I ran a few games and Serum Powder is amazing in this deck. It can be cast as a mana source and it turns on an Opal at the very least.

Serum Powder

12/1/2004: Unlike a normal mulligan, Serum Powder lets you draw the same number of cards that were in your hand, not one less. If you have already taken one mulligan and your hand contains six cards including a Serum Powder, you can choose to exile those six cards and draw six new cards.

There is also synergy between Gamble/LED/Thoughtseize and Welder. The combo is faster if you happen to discard Helm and weld it back to activate it. In my initial games, this has been tearing up Goyf (Bant) and Stalker decks obv.

I don't mean to piss on your decklist but a Wasteland on your Cloudpost means you just lost 2 turns. Your manabase also don't support hardcasting Leyline and there's no way to tutor for your win conditions (Staff of Domination and Helm of Obedience) unless you lucksack heavily. With Metalworker and Sol-lands, I'd rather play Kuldotha MUD or Stax if I feel like dusting off 3spheres and Chalices.

A turn 1 Leyline + Welder, turn 2 LED, crack + weld Helm back into play is even luckier. The decklist is something I plucked out of the air in like 10 minutes. I didn't think it would be a blast to play. The Simian Spirit Guides don't feel quite well. I might try Burning Wish to grab those Shattering Sprees for Pithing Needle or Revoker.

This seems funny, I'll try it for sure.
Maybe add more discard or protection in the place of Simian Spirit Guide? Even Blood Moon can be interesting, with a few changes in the mana base.
