Hello. I did not see a Bomberman thread. It plays very similar to Salvagers Game (Golden Grahams), but it does not normally run :g: or Gamekeeper. It is also similar to Imperial Painter, but Painter is not the main win con, but can easily be Boarded in. Bomberman is an older deck (and other sub type Tezz-Bomberman). I always loved this deck and I'm wanting to make it better.

Here is my current build of the Bomberman Variant:

Creatures
4 Auriok Salvagers
3 Trinket Mage

Instants
4 Force of Will
3 Spell Pierce
3 Swords to Plowshares
4 Intuition
2 Thirst for Knowledge

Sorcery
3 Transmute Artifact

Artifacts
4 Grim Monolith
3 Ęther Spellbomb
1 Pyrite Spellbomb
2 Engineered Explosives
1 Sensei's Divning Top
3 Lion's Eye Diamond
1 Mox Opal

Lands
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
2 Volcanic Island
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Seat of The Synod
1 Ancient Den
1 Academy Ruins
1 Island

Board
3 Pyroblast
1 Pithing Needle
2 Enlightened Tutor
1 Ethersworn Canonist
3 Tormod's Crypt
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Painter's Servant
2 Grindstone

Treasure Mage > Trinket Mage

That way you could use other artifacts.....Or even use both.

I would use painter's combo main, but thats not the point in this thread.

EDIT: Sorry, misread the card.

There is nothing in this deck that Treasure Mage can get.

As far as the deck goes, 23 lands looks pretty heavy. I don't see any way you can really utilize those one of lands. Sure you can Intuition for them, but how are you going to ever guarantee Karakas or Maze? One Tolaria West doesn't feel good enough.
You don't need Karakas in this deck anyway. Aether Spellbomb serves the same function.

Yeah, I do feel like 23 is heavy. I'll probably go down to 20. Tolaria West can Transmute to get an LED. Although, I'm looking Into Transmute Artifact more, because whenever your searching up an artifact with less than or equal to the artifact cmc you sacked, it only costs :u::u:. e.g. if say the artifact you sac is Ancient Den or SDT it costs :u::u: to get an LED; if you sac the den to search up an Ęther Spellbomb for instance, it would cost :1::u::u:.

I have been thinking about utilizing this card more actually. And potetntialy dropping trinket.

About Painter....
This deck is probably the grandpa of Imperial Painter, but to me Salvagers is the primary win con in a build like this. With that being said, I do think Painter is the best secondary win con of the deck.

Transmute Artifact is great, but you shouldn't cut Trinket Mage.

Have you considered Grim Monolith?

It helps power out Salvagers and has great synergy with Transmute Artifact.

Thats a great idea! I like the potential of having a Turn 3 salvagers with :1::w: Open! I'll update the OP with my adjusted ideas.

Have you ever had any benefit from having painter combo in the board? I don't think you need a secondary win condition.

Between Cleanfall, Engineered Explosives , Pithing Needle, Swords to Plowshares , and countermagic you should have no trouble always winning with Salvagers and in two colors.

I took a crack at this deck without finding the forum first. I didn't manage to come up with anything great, but here is what I wrote about it.

I think the Imperial Bomberman thread (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?27949-Deck-Imperial-Bomberman) is generally more up to date than this one.
