A Magic: the Gathering movie being released in fall

I would like to present to you the first Czech independent Magic: the Gathering movie, which had been shot from november 2009 in coproduction with 2D studio and The Audiovisual centre of ČVUT college. The name of the movie is Tap: Maxova hra. (Tap: Max´s Game)

Max's game is an epic story about a path to fulfilling one's dreams, an undying friendship, and a sudden opportunity to become the best...

Several years ago, Karel Adam and his four best friends were the top players in a Magic club Fireball. They were having the time of their lives.

However, the times when they were the best are long gone. Now, only Karel visits the closed club and reminisces of the old times frequently.
One day, he sees his game being played by people in a café and asks himself a question, if a man can cease being something that he'd always been.
And the answer changes his card career forever...

Although I hate to burn on fun initiatives around M:TG, I have to agree. This movie feels too much like Yu-Gi-Oh (with a hint of Pokémon).

Even if a movie had a 100 billion dollar budget and was made about magic cards, I'm still not sure I would bother to go see it. Let's face it, it's not exactly movie material. Great game, not good film material.
