I was asked a question, but I'm not sure if my answer was correct.
Cryptoplasm is currently a copy of Figure of Destiny. I activate its abilities until it becomes 8/8 with flying and first strike, then it eventually becomes a copy of something else. The question was if Cryptoplasm retains its previous bonus.
My answer was that Figure of Destiny's effect is a continuous effect that goes to layers 4, 6 and 7b, and it doesn't depend on its creature types given the way it's worded (it's not "As long as Figure of Destiny is a Warrior"), and becoming a copy of another creature goes to layer 1. So following the layering order, Cryptoplasm should first copy the other creature (layer 1), then gain the Kithkin, Spirit, Warrior and Avatar creature types (losing all other creature types it could have by then / layer 4), then gain flying and first strike (layer 6), then become 8/8 (layer 7b).
Am I missing something?
