Read about them here. (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/144)

Changes include the introduction of the keyword hexproof, aka troll shroud, and the term "dies" instead of "is put into the graveyard from the battlefield" for creatures.

Oh and, bloodthirst and planeswalkers (duh) will be making a return in M12.

I know they'll never do it, but they should stop reprinting the "bad" versions of Planeswalkers. JTMS and Chandra Ablaze would be awesome to see in a base set...I say this speaking as someone who never plays type 2, and missed the bus on picking up Jaces when Worldwake boosters weren't 7-10$.

Doubtful. I'm still amazed, based on the trailer for Duels 2012, that they're printing Sorin and Gideon instead of Ajani and Liliana.

Given how powerful most of the Planeswalker cards are, I'd be disappointed if they didn't just reprint at least one version of each Planeswalker in the base sets. Some don't really fit, like Tezz (both versions) because there are very seldom worthwhile artifacts in the base set. But the base sets seem like the ideal place to populate the mythic rarity level with truly iconic cards, which the planeswalkers all are.

MaRo already came right out and said Jace TMS is never being reprinted. Sorry.

Hexproof sounds awful to me - "hex" is great, but "proof" feels so incredibly mundane. I associate it with "waterproof", and the result is something you'd slap on a piece of kitchenware. How about 'Hexward' or 'Hexshield' instead?

Bloodthirst is a very aggro mechanic. I wonder if they'll hold back on the cheap, offensive guys in Innistrad to compensate.

Sorin is a good call, he's less boring than Liliana - in general, the original five were all boring by design, since they had no character concept beyond being an icon of their colour, and while that might have made players more comfortable when initially trying to sell the planeswalker card type, the sooner they're phased out the better. Speaking of which, we're all still waiting for a mono-Red planeswalker that isn't terrible.

Koth is very good. Not sure how much more you could want from a monored planeswalker except he doesn't protect himself

Maybe I'm confused here, but is there any Planeswalker with red mana symbols that isn't shit?

I guess it's hard coming up with a name for a (not-so) new mechanic. I agree that hexproof sounds a bit awkward. Hexshield reminds me of an antivirus program. >_>

Koth is alright, though he practically doesn't see any play in Legacy.

What does everyone think of "dies"? I thought this would be the most interesting change introduced.

"Hexproof" sounds alright to me but "dies" will take some getting use to. Dies sounds like the creature passing away from old age instead of something violent.

Koth is awful in Legacy since he's over the curve of aggressive decks (and worse than other options if you needed a 4cc planeswalker), and has little function in control builds.

Yes, Ajani Vengeant.

Red needs a planeswalker that costs 3 mana, because there is no red deck that plays control, and hence doesn't generally want/need to protect its planeswalkers.

I totally forgot about Koth. Yeah, he'd be good for a core set, unless they're afraid of having the "emblem" thing.

He is good? This is a Legacy forum, and I am pretty sure all walkers that aren't Jace (if I have to say which one, shoot yourself) or Eslepth (read my other parenthesis) are just dog shit.

Well as a fringe case Koth works great with moon against junk decks and mono blue decks. He was finally a threat that they both have trouble with. But I guess my I'm biased, but he isn't dog shit.

Ajani Veng isn't that bad. He has in the past showed up in winning lists from Zoo to Control decks.

He was somewhat used in old CounterTop/Walker lists. This was before the Jace Revolution, so take that with a grain of salt. The point stands - Red has some janky walkers. Every set I keep getting reaffirmed that WotC's R&D only has one thing on their mind when they think about the color pie: Blueberry filling.

I think Tezz is pretty solid too, in affinity obviously but I saw him doing well in a thopter list too. Not great, but definitely legacy viable.

Thoughts:

Hexproof is stupid, but mostly because it doesn't make any sense: This creature gains Hexproof until end of turn. Really? Gains Hexproof? How about gains Hexellence. That makes just as much sense.

Dies. They already die, we all abbreviate it to that. "When this guy dies, you kill that thing." Not an important change.

You guys must be really hilarious to watch in person. You guys should head out west so I can see this. (Not to mention we have better everything here, girls, weed, concerts, girls, parties, and girls [except music, but the internet exists])

Also, Adam, I mentioned that on Twitter. Clearly stealing ideas.

Now everything will match the original text of Abu Ja'far. From Arabian Nights. As someone who likes old-skool cards, I approve.

We'll ignore that fact that his creature type is no longer "leper".

Can we bring back Bury yet?

"When you bury a creature/land/artifact, it's put into the graveyard" etc

So we can return to Terror's Bury target creature. Destroy still will mean what it does in the 5th Edition rulebook.

FFS, the concept is not hard!

Hexproof is a pretty asinine keyword, if only because you can target Hexproof creatures with your own Hex and your opponent can damage them with Kaervek's Hex, making them clearly not hexproof.

The awesome part about the "dies" terminology is that the following is now possible:

Or if the mall closes, in which case all that's left is some abandoned factories and thriving ghettos...or does the whole city just cease to exist the day that thing doesn't open its doors?
