attacking with equipped creaturified equipment

If I have an equipment attached to a creature, and then I turn my equipment into a creature, via march of the machines or some such, does it fall off?

If not, can I then attack with both the equipment and the equipped creature which is benefiting from being equipped? This sounds plausible to me, yet also totally weird.

Creatures can't be attached to anything. If they are, they'll "fall off".
