With the metagame shifting towards mid-range and control decks, I thought it might be time to reexamine Threshold, as it traditionally does well in control metas. The plan here is to build the most streamlined, brutally efficient UGB version possible. I want heavy disruption, must-answer threats, and incredible deck velocity.

The roughdraft:

4x Tarmogoyf
4x Dark Confidant
2x Jace, the Mind Sculptor

4x Mental Misstep
4x Daze
4x Force of Will
3x Hymn to Tourach
3x Thoughtseize

4x Brainstorm
4x Ponder
4x Ghastly Demise

4x Wasteland
4x Misty Rainforest
4x Polluted Delta
4x Underground Sea
3x Tropical Island
1x Bayou

The joy of playing Thoughtseize, Hymn to Tourach, Mental Misstep, Daze and Force of Will in the same deck is unparallelled. Brutal Thresh can stop any planned opening dead in its tracks with sequences like Thoughtseize->MM your play->Hymn, and Brainstorm/Ponder/Confidant smooth it out and keep gas flowing to your hand at all times.

With such cheap and efficient spells, the deck stays extremely active (like a good Thresh deck should!) and packs Goyf and Jace for finishers.

Now the MD is mostly built with things like Team America, Landstill, Bant, etc in mind, so the SB will likely need to be dedicated to beating aggro. To start out with I am going to dedicate 4 spots for Tormod's Crypt and the remaining 11 to beating Zoo, Merfolk, Goblins, Affinity, etc.
